GiftCardMall via eBay is offering $50 Sears physical gift cards for $40. In the past purchases from this merchant have earned 5X points with Chase Ink cards and you can save an additional 1.5% by starting at a portal.
There is a limit of 2 x $50 cards per eBay user ID. These deals tend to be very popular and similar deals have sold out very quickly.
For more see: The complete guide to Sears gift cards.
Update: GiftCardMall is also selling $75 eBay Gift Cards for $72. It seems Ebates is the best portal to use for eBay gift card purchases from GiftCardMall based on reader experiences.

Interesting. No cash advance fee on my Ink Plus, but no 5x UR points either.
My first Giftcardmall purchase on eBay and I was hit by a $15 cash advance fee on my Ink. So much for 5x.

Shawn — other than paying via a Paypal balance, do you have any tips on how to avoid a cash advance fee form eBay when buying gift cards? Especially when the Frequent Miler email promotes the Chase Ink card as a way to obtain 5X with Giftcardmall. Thank you for any help.
This is the first time I have heard of these purchases being coded as cash advances. You could certainly lower your cash advance limit to $0 to avoid issues here. Other than that, I will take a wait and see approach since I have made dozens of purchases from GiftCardMall on eBay and never had an issue.
Keep in mind that sometimes transactions initially look like cash advances, but show as purchases by the time they post. I will be checking my account in the next couple of days to see how this shakes out.
Hi Shawn — any data points on how this turned out for you? Thanks.
Yes I only earned 1x on the GiftCardMall purchase, but there was no cash advance fee.
Bummer on the gift cards being processed as cash advances. Thanks for the heads up livvymom & Bob!
My local Sears (northeast) has not hard-coded the registers. I tried paying with a Citi Double Cash card. Ebay attempted to process the gift card as a cash advance. Because I had brought the cash advance limit to zero, the transaction did not process until I used a different card. So FYI to all…
Same happened with using three different Ink cards.
Clarification- Three different Ink cards did not go through when attempting to pay through Paypal. These have a zero cash limit and ebay/Giftcardmall was coded as a cash transaction so it was declined.
Bob – I used a Chase Ink to pay, but did not set the cash advance to zero. Any advice on how to mitigate a cash advance fee if the transaction went through as a cash advance? Thanks if you can help.
Thanks for sharing this Bob. Sometimes transactions show as cash advances at first and then are processed as purchases. I paid for the majority of my purchase with an eBay gift card, but I did have a small balance that was paid with my Ink card. I will follow up once the transaction has posted to let everyone know how it turned out.
I got the same thing happen with my Citi Double Cash (Cash Advance limt = 0)
I used to be a regular buyer of discounted Sears gift cards on ebay — to buy other stores’ gift cards at Sears. But my local Sears stores have hard-coded their cash registers to prohibit buying gift cards with gift cards. Not sure if this is nationwide, but I would think it could be. Without the option of turning Sears gift cards into other gift cards, I’m reluctant to stock up on them. Many people will find some good merchandise deals at Sears, especially if you watch SlickDeals.
