Dan’s Deals highlights increased award availability between New York and Tel Aviv on American Airlines between now and March (and also on flights connecting to New York from other starting points in the US). While the travel environment in that window is certainly uncertain, the good news is that American Airlines offers free cancellations, so the risk is minimal if you’re suddenly sitting on a large pile of American Airlines miles.
Dan notes wide open availability, though I am (not surprisingly) seeing a lot of it has dried up. I expect that these days AA availability will get gobbled up by the newly-minted mileage millionaires as quickly as it appears, but if you can find something that works this is an excellent deal. You’ll want to find dates with seats available one-way and then search round trip for the lowest-priced web special awards. Rather than take up much time looking for examples and running the risk that what’s left also dries up before publication, I just recommend you head over to Dan’s Deals and see his post for more detail.
Assuming you donated via the big SimplyMiles 240x deal, this is like $416 worth of miles round trip for business class to Israel, which is a stellar deal for those looking to go.
