Southwest Airlines is running another sale, this time giving up to 25% off base fares when using promo code POINTS25. Unlike most of their sales that involve the use of a promo code though, this offer is only valid on flights booked with Rapid Rewards points rather than paid flights too.

- Book a Southwest flight on Southwest.com or swabiz.com with code POINTS25 using your Rapid Rewards points from December 17 through December 19, 2024 (the “Booking Period”) and receive up to 25 percent off when you fly between January 7-March 5, 2025 for continental U.S. and interisland Hawaii travel and between January 7-May 22, 2025 for international, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico travel (the “Travel Period”). Orange County (SNA) travel not valid.

Quick Thoughts
This has the potential to be a decent deal, especially if you’re planning travel to Hawaii, Puerto Rico or internationally on Southwest as the sale for those destinations is valid for 4.5 months rather than only two months for domestic travel.
Be aware that this sale is only valid for flights booked with Rapid Rewards points and that the discount applied will be “up to” 25%, rather than always being 25%. If you have any existing Southwest bookings during the eligible travel periods, be sure to reprice them and see if you can save points by rebooking.
