Spirit Airlines is running a More Fly Summer Sale, with promotions running through August 1. They’ve kicked things off with several offers which includes 50% off base fares and double points. However, note that those two promos have to be booked by tonight (July 29).

- Percent discount will be applied to the base fare only, regardless of travel option selected.

Quick Thoughts
I’m not aware of Spirit frequently running promotions whereby a promo code will offer a discount, so I’m curious if they’re seeing a slowdown in travel during the second half of the year, or if they’re just testing out using promo codes rather than specific sale prices.
I wouldn’t necessarily count on the 50PCT promo code reducing fares by a significant amount. That’s because the promo code only halves the cost of the base fare; with a large chunk of Spirit’s fares being made up of various taxes and fees (including the $27.99 Passenger Usage Charge), it means a potentially only minimal amount of a fare will be eligible for the discount. Still, any discount is better than no discount if you were going to be booking flights with Spirit anyway.
Earning double points is nice too and appears to stack with the 50PCT promo code offer. Be aware that the dates don’t align though; the 50% off base fares offer is valid for travel from August 7 through December 16, with a couple of weeks blacked out over Thanksgiving, while the double points promo is only valid for flights through the end of September.
