7% back via portal
Through this weekend, the cash back portal, TopCashBack, is offering 7% cash back for Hyatt stays. Simply start your browsing at TopCashBack and click through to Hyatt to make your reservations.
Gift Cards 10% off
You can increase savings by buying Hyatt gift cards for 10% off (through December 31). This deal is only for Hyatt Gold Passport members. Since it is free to join their program, that makes this deal available to everyone.
To get the discount, go to certificates.hyatt.com and enter promo code GPGIFT14 during checkout.
Please see certificates.hyatt.com for details and terms associated with gift cards and gift certificates.
Increased savings with Amex business cards (OPEN Savings)
Purchases of Hyatt gift cards are eligible for Amex OPEN automatic statement credits. Amex offers small-business cardholders automatic rebates with certain vendors and that includes Hyatt. That means that you can save an additional 5% by paying with an Amex small business card. Details here.
Add it up
All of the above discounts add up to a 22% discount/rebate on Hyatt stays (more precisely, a 21.5% rebate since the gift card rebates aren’t additive). And, that’s not including any promo codes or other discounts available when booking your Hyatt stay (e.g. AAA discount, My Elite Rate discount, etc).
[…] Stackable Hyatt savings for 22% off. […]
There are quite a few options on the CB site such as Hyatt Place Completed Stay etc. For the GCs, I am wondering which one we should choose. Thanks!
You don’t have to go through the portal to buy the gift cards. The portal offer is for booking a room. You can buy the gift cards later (but before your stay) and pay for the room with the gift cards.
I’m ok to let Hyatt hold my money until I show up on these guaranteed stays……Saving $430 on a $2000 mix of biz and pleasure is awesome……thank you!
I can use my Barclay Arrival Plus, instead of Amex, so I can reimburse myself, yes? Will Barclay code Hyatt gift cards as reimbursable travel?
Hubby and I have two rooms at a Hyatt resort (taking our adult kids) over Christmas on points, but put in for discounted Club rooms. We planned on paying the $50/night with Arrival pts. Discounted gift cards purchased with Arrival could work too. I hope.
I believe so, yes.
Interesting I’m now considering doing this
Can I get the 7% cash back for buying the gift certificates or do I need to book a stay within this weekend? Thanks for the tip!
The 7% back is for booking a stay. You don’t need to complete the stay this weekend.
And Amex Offers has $50 off $150 purchase
Good deal but for Hyatt Place only. Must stay before 2/28/15.
Where can I find the offer? I am looking at Amex offers (in Twitter) as well as AMEX online but no luck. Is it targeted?
Look for AmEx Offers for personal cards. I’m seeing it on Blue Cash cards.
Can you double dip the CB portal by going through it again to book using the gc?
You can certainly go through the portal to book the stay even when paying with a gift card. I don’t think the portal will give cash back for going through to buy the gift cards, but it can’t hurt to try.
