Starting on Sunday 4/24/16, Staples is running a promotion (page 9) offering a $20 rebate with the purchase of $300 or more in Mastercard gift cards. The last time they ran a similar promotion was back in March.
The Deal
Buy $300 of MasterCard® Gift Cards and receive a $20 Staples gift card via Easy Rebate.
The Rebate
The rebate is done completely online and the Staples gift card generally comes via U.S. mail within 4-6 weeks.

Maximizing
Generally with these deals it is best to use a Chase Ink card to earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points or a Amex SimplyCash card to earn 5% cash back at Staples. This deal will not combine with the recent Amex Offer since the rebate is in-store only and the Amex Offer is for online.

Unfortunately my local Staples has chosen not to sell Mastercard (and Visa) gift cards. ( Location is Overland Park, Kansas.)

I agree it is not stackable with the most recent Amex offer of $25 off when you spend $100 at Staples.com. But it is valid for the older and still active 5% back on purchases over $200. So if you have this and have not maxed out the $5000 spend, then you can certainly use it for this.
I think the extra 5% statement credit + whatever points/cash you get for the card is generally a little better than the 5X UR.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to spend my 3 or 4 accumulated $20 Staples “rebates” that are actually Staples gift cards? In the past, I spent some of them on office supplies (but then no Ink 5x rewards ), but now I don’t need any supplies.

Can you use the master cards for moneyorders ?
I seem to recall that you can create a PIN for them which makes them usable to purchase MOs at the Kroger family of stores. I don’t know if WMT will accept them even with PIN.
This is not going to be stackable with the AMEX $25 off on a minimum purchase of $100 at Staples.com. Firstly, Mastercard gift cards aren’t sold on Staples.com. Also this $20 rebate on a minimum of $300 must be purchased in store. The AMEX $25 credit is only for online purchases.
