Staples Mastercard rebate

Starting today, Staples is running an unadvertised promotion offering a $15 rebate with the purchase of $300 or more in Mastercard gift cards.

The Deal

Get a $15 Staples Gift Card on a Purchase of $300 or more of MasterCard Gift Cards.

The Rebate

The rebate is done completely online and the Staples gift card generally comes via U.S. mail within 4-6 weeks.

Key Terms

  • Valid 11/20/16-11/26/16
  • In store only.

This deal is not in the circular, but you can find the rebate form by going to StaplesEasyRebates.com and searching for rebate #16-89688. The limit of 1 per household has applied to every single Staples Mastercard rebate I have seen so I expect it to apply here as well.

Maximizing

Generally with these deals it is best to use a Chase Ink card to earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points or a Amex SimplyCash card to earn 5% cash back at Staples.

Just got a rejection on the 2 x $200 I bought.

Gerry

I suspect the reasons why the coupon didn’t print in-store is b/c of SKU restrictions Staples placed on the offer, which are not clear in the text. Only certain SKUs count; it’s not merely buying $300+ in MC gift cards, but purchasing certain SKUs/denominations. Like others, I have had no luck with the online link but am sending in the form and receipt to see what happens. Not optimistic, though. I purchased 2 x $200, and SKU appears to be 76750. The qualifying MC gift cards listed on the rebate hard copy are 763603, 192695, 763608, 763455 or 725725.

SDO

I submitted mine online on 11/22. Just checked the status:

“Validation complete.”

Is that a good sign?

Gerry

Having the same problem. Staples says, “Please enter a valid 17 digit easy rebate ID.” Anyone know what the ID is for this rebate? Thanks.

Tim R

I just purchased 2 x MC GC’s and they were SKU #193254. I didn’t have the rebate details with me when I purchased. 🙁 Rebate offer calls out SKU’s 763603, 192695, 763608, 763455, 725725. Bummer, $13.90 flushed! But, at least INK pays me $20 for $400 card purchase 🙂

SDO

But the bigger question is what are those other SKUs? I’ve only seen one type of MC GC at Staples.

SDO

Anyone get this rebate to submit successfully? No rebate form printed at the register, so I tried submitting it online anyway. The Easy Rebates site made no mention of the offer but allowed the submission. E-mail confirmation was also generic with no mention of the offer.

Hans

Purchased $200 * 2 and the rebate form was not printed together with the receipt.

Empty

Same for me.

Juan

Do staples let you purchase these type of giftcards in store using a credit card as a form of payment?

MommaTraveler

I can’t find the rebate form online using the code you gave. I get the following: “We’re sorry we are unable to locate the rebate offer you searched for. Please check your information and try again.”

Gerald

Click on Find Rebate, then enter “gift card” for Product keyword.

I’d be willing to do this if it weren’t for the big scare in MC-related fraud from the recent hacking scandal. I don’t have the ability to empty these quick so if I were to hold on to them for regular purchases, I don’t want to take the chance of them getting drained.

Ryan

Yep I totally agree. I hate these mail in rebates for a giftcard. I would only do it if it was an instant rebate. Too much of a hassle and wait.

Gary70

I would not buy MC ever again. I purchased 4 $200 MC and within 3 weeks 2 of them have been drained.
