Update 10/29/20: Chase has been sending out registration links for these spending offers, so I’ve added a few of those below.

The full registration links in the emails are one-click links, so you can activate your cards that way. Each co-branded card has its own unique URL slug; United’s ends in united41, IHG’s ends in ihg41 and Hyatt’s ends in hyatt41. I therefore suspect that changing those to marriott41, southwest41, etc. will help you register for other co-branded cards too if you have those and the regular chase.com/mybonus link isn’t working.

I’d mentioned in the original post that I’d been unable to activate my wife’s Hyatt offer due to the last 4 digits of her Hyatt card being the same as her IHG card. I’ve now been able to register that card using the link in the email from Chase. That’s been timed nicely so that we can get $3,000 of spend spread out over two months to contribute towards the $4,000 in spend needed for a free category 1-4 certificate.

Key Terms

(n.b. These are the terms for the IHG offer – terms will be somewhat similar on other cards)

  • To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must activate by 12/31/20 11:59 p.m. E.T.
  • You will earn 5 points total for each $1 spent in the Amazon.com category and 3 points total for each $1 spent in the grocery store category on up to $1,500 in total combined purchases each month from 11/01/2020 to 12/31/2020. That’s 1 or 4 points on top of the 2 points or 1 point you already earn on those purchases with your card. For more information about Chase rewards categories, see chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs.
  • The Amazon.com category includes purchases made at Amazon.com (including digital downloads, Amazon.com Gift Cards, Amazon Fresh orders, Amazon Prime subscriptions, and items sold by third-party merchants through Amazon.com’s marketplace) and Whole Foods Market (including physical Whole Foods Market and Whole Foods Market 365 stores, and the website accessible at www.wholefoodsmarket.com). The Amazon.com category does not include (i) purchases from merchants using Amazon Pay, (ii) purchases made at international Amazon retail sites (including but not limited to Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr, or Amazon.co.jp), or any other website operated by Amazon, (iii) purchases made at international Whole Foods Market sites, (iv) purchases of Whole Foods Market or Whole Foods Market 365 products or services through third-party sites such as Eventbrite, Instacart, Google Express and Shipt, (v) online purchases of Whole Foods Market or Whole Foods Market 365 gift cards (including through buyatab.com), event tickets or classes, (vi) purchases from certain third-party vendors operating at Whole Foods Market sites, (vii) purchases of massage services at any Whole Foods Market site, or (viii) purchases from Spa@Ink, in each case in Amazon’s sole discretion.
  • Qualifying Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh purchases will only earn the bonus in the Amazon.com category and not in the grocery store category.
  • Purchases posted to your account with a transaction date during the offer period are eligible for this offer.
  • Delays by the merchant, such as shipping, could extend the transaction date beyond the offer period.
  • Please allow up to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for points to post to your account. (“Purchases” do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable.)
  • To qualify for this bonus offer, account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
  • This bonus offer is nontransferable.
  • Eligible credit cards: IHG Rewards Club Premier Credit Card, IHG Rewards Club Select Credit Card, and the IHG Rewards Club Traveler Credit Card.

Quick Thoughts

These are some nice bonuses to have, although their value will depend on which cards you have. For example, earning 3x on IHG cards isn’t worth it, especially seeing as the card already earns 2x at grocery stores, so you’re only getting 1 bonus IHG Rewards Club point per dollar. 3x on Hyatt cards or 5x on Marriott, Southwest and United cards are a little more enticing given the value of their points.

These offers seem to be targeted, so there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to enroll. My wife and I were able to enroll all our IHG cards (2x Premier and 2x Select), both our Marriott business cards, my Marriott personal card and my United Explorer card.

Neither of us were able to enroll our Hyatt cards though. I received a message saying I wasn’t eligible when trying to enroll that card, while it wasn’t possible to even attempt to enroll my wife’s card. Her Hyatt and IHG cards have exactly the same last four digits, so it automatically enrolled her IHG card rather than her Hyatt card (thanks Chase!)

Earning 10x points on Marriott stays on Marriott/Ritz-Carlton cards is a nice little bonus too, especially seeing as the 10x Marriott Amex Offers expire on October 31 which means these Chase bonuses are a good replacement.

Note that the spending offers don’t kick in until November 1, so don’t rush to do grocery or Amazon spending right now. Also note that it’s based on $1,500 combined spend per month, so you can’t spend $1,500 on Amazon and $1,500 at grocery stores in the same month to earn 3x/5x. You can spend $1,500 one month and $1,500 the next month to max out these bonuses though.
