United is offering a one-day sale that is good for travel booked May 6th only. It’s late in the day already, but if you see this post in time, you can book some domestic flights from 4K each way and international routes from 40K miles round trip. These could make for good opportunities to plan a getaway for a relatively cheap mileage price.

- United is offering a one-day sale with award flights from 4K miles each way in economy class on a number of domestic routes and from 40K miles round trip on select international routes. Flights must be booked 5/6/21 for travel from 6/1 – 8/31/21

Quick Thoughts
Routes on sale with this even include new routes like Newark to Dubrovnik, which is on sale for 40K miles and $45.45 round trip.
Compared to mid-summer cash prices, that’s actually quite good for this route. Unfortunately, it is only available on select dates.
Domestically, there are tons of routes on sale. Note that to see the 4K each way pricing, you need to search round trip (and it doesn’t work in conjunction with the Excursionist Perk). As an example, Los Angeles to Jackson, Wyoming is on sale for 4K miles each way.
A getaway to Jackson Hole for 8K miles and $11.20 round trip is a solid deal indeed.
Routes and dates are limited, but if you have a few minutes to search you may come up with some hidden gems.

I guess 4K each way for United economy class on domestic flights is a great deal, but someone needs to pay me a lot of money and/or drug me to make me fly United economy on long-haul international flights, even for 40K round trip.
Got the email from United and got busy during the day, but snagged a long weekend in Charleston (from ORD) for 8k each. Thanks for reminding me!
