Quick Thoughts

The World of Hyatt credit card has had a relatively weak introductory offer for the last few years. While it often gets advertised as being worth 60,000 bonus points, the offer awards 30,000 bonus points after $3000 in purchases in the first three months, plus one additional point per dollar spent on up to $15,000 in purchases in the first six months. Since you would ordinarily earn at least one point per dollar on that $15,000 in purchases, only the additional point per dollar is actually a bonus, which is why we consider the welcome offer to be worth 45,000 bonus points. You’ll earn a total of at least 60,000 World of Hyatt points if you do the full $15,000 in purchases, but 15K of those points are the points you would earn on $15,000 in purchases at any time — it is the additional 15K on that spend that is only offered during the first 6 months.

This new, very slightly elevated offer provides double elite night credit on up to 15 nights spent after approval on a temporary basis. If you apply and are approved between October 16, 2025 and November 20th, 2025, after approval, you’ll earn a total of two elite night credits for every qualifying night you spend at a Hyatt hotel between approval and January 31st, 2026.

As a reminder, qualifying nights for Hyatt include most paid nights as well as award nights booked using your World of Hyatt Points or World of Hyatt Free Night Certificates.

If you don’t yet have the card and you already have nights planned during the travel window, it certainly might make sense to get the card in order to juice up your elite night earnings if those additional elite nights will get you to an important milestone reward. For instance, let’s say you have a 15-night stay planned in January. Applying for the card would get you 30 elite night credits for that January stay, plus the five elite night credits that you get from having the card, so you would have 35 elite nights completed early in the year. That could make it much easier to reach important milestone rewards. Keep in mind, though, that if you have some nights planned this year and some nights planned next year, the double elite night credits on those days will obviously count towards separate years. It is also worth repeating that you can earn up to 15 bonus Elite night credits.
