There is at least one new Chase Offer out that is good for 10% back at all Marriott brands. My wife had this on her Ink Business Preferred, but we don’t seem to be targeted on any other cards. Marriott usually has multiple versions of these offers when they are released, both in regards to the specific brands targeted as well the percentage back. There could be more variations out there.
The maximum cashback on the offer that we have is $75 and the expiration date is 5/19/23. Like usual, it stipulates that the purchase has to be $100 or more.
The Deal
- New Chase Offer that’s good for 10% back at Marriott Bonvoy properties (with a purchase of $100 or more):
- 15% off any Marriott Bonvoy property ($85 max)
Key Terms
- Expires 5/19/23
- Valid one time only
- Most, if not all, require $100 minimum spend
Quick Thoughts
These Marriott Chase Offers seeem to be coming more frequently, but they are usually targeted at specific brands with generally short expirations when compared to the Marriott Amex Offers (although, to be fair, the Amex offers often disappear before the stated expiry).
Although the percentage off is lower than recent some Amex offers, it is worth noting that the Chase offers should work at any property worldwide, as opposed to the Amex Offers which are always limited to properties in the US/Mexico/Caribbean.
Gift cards purchased at the front desk of a hotel have historically triggered Chase Offers. It can be challenging to find a Bonvoy hotel that actually sells gift cards, but you should be able to call around to nearby properties before heading out (it’s worth asking for a manager if they do sell GC, as it’s common for front desk agents to not know how to sell them). Marriott gift cards work across brands, so if you buy a gift card at a TownPlace Suites you should have no trouble using it at a Westin or Ritz or any other Marriott brand despite the branding on the front of the physical gift card.
Keep in mind that only the first charge triggers most Chase offers, so it is probably best not to use the card loaded with the offer at check-in (when they may preauthorize a lesser amount) but rather at check-out (or prepay).
[…] Chase Offers has a few targeted offers for 10% or 15% back as statement credits at Marriott properties for between $47 and $102 total cash back. Some of the offers are property specific and some have a minimum spend of $100 so double check the terms and conditions of your offer. Yes, there’s a way to take advantage of these credits with Chase or Bank of America without actually staying at a Marriott. (Thanks to FM) […]
Is there Sheraton this time around? I see a few brands but not Sheraton, which I in fact could use.
Can the gift cards be used overseas?
Yes, they can.
I got nothing on 5 different consumer cards including Boundless 🙁
I have multiple offers (Westin, Fairfield, Sheraton) on the same card, if I purchase a Bonvoy gift card which offer will track or do I deactivate lower offers?
The offer will be brand specific, and that’s what will determine which off e is triggered (ie, Fairfield will trigger the Fairfield offer)
any idea if buying an e-gift card will trigger the discount?
Yes, but it has to be done in store (ie, at a hotel). Online GC won’t count.
Do hotels sell e-gift cards? I have been told to buy them on the Marriott website, at the Marriott hotels I checked with.
FYI I found the Fairfield 15% in my BofA offers. The only Chase offer was on my wife’s card where I am not an AU, so maybe using my BofA1 will help a bit to avoid confusion. I plan to use Tim’s technique to call and prepay since I have a stay a few days after the offer period. I hope I can put $250 on an Amex to get $50 back and the rest on my BofA Premium Rewards to get about $40 more back.
Any advice as to how to get them to charge you now instead of upon arrival? I booked an autograph hotel – and have the offer- but my stay is after the offer expires.
I just had the same situation. I called the hotel and told them that I’d like to prepay for the entire stay. They are usually happy to do it.
