Ebates is offering 10% back at many stores today, which represents the highest currently available at a number of retailers. Some readers will be happy to see the various IHG brands available at 10% back, which should stack with current promos.

Quick Thoughts

Cash back events like this always have a mix of places that are a very good deal and others that aren’t special at 10%. For example, ten percent back at Dick’s Sporting Goods, while not the best rate we’ve seen over the past 15 months, is a pretty good return nonetheless as payouts only occasionally run into double digits:

On the other hand, 10% back at eBags isn’t even terribly competitive right now, nevermind the fact that payouts run into the 20%+ (or even 20 miles per dollar) range several times a year.

Be sure you shop around and see whether or not this represents a deal at your chosen retailer. Also be sure to check terms for any deals you pursue. When I visited the CashBackMonitor home page, I saw that AirBnB was at 10% back and I initially assumed that it must be part of this Ebates sale. It isn’t. That rate is through another site — and when I checked the restrictions, it was just for hosting, not for stays.

Again, that was not through Ebates, but it was a good reminder that you should always check the terms to be sure that your intended purchase will qualify.

One that might come in useful for readers is 10% back at the various IHG brands. I imagine this could be stacked with the offer Stephen recently wrote about to get 10,000 points for staying at a “new” hotel (or with other current offers).
