There is a new Chase Offer out recently that’s good for 10% back at Marathon Gas Stations. I found this offer on my old Chase Ink Plus card, which earns 2x at gas stations — so getting an additional 10% back looks like a good deal to me, though at a max of $5 back the savings won’t be wildly exciting.
The Deal
- A new Chase Offer is out that is good for 10% back at Marathon Pay-at-Pump up to $5.00 back
Key Terms
- Expires 8/3/21
- Valid one time only
- Not valid on convenience purchases
Quick Thoughts
Saving five bucks probably won’t be enough to switch out the gas card in your wallet, but if you’ve already got your Ink card on you and you have synced up this offer, it beats paying five bucks more. The problem is that the terms indicate that convenience purchases are excluded, which means that you would need to buy $50 in gas to max this out. Unless you’re a truck driver or bringing two vehicles to the gas station, you probably won’t see much more than three or four bucks in savings — which means it isn’t worth the effort to plan to bring two cars to the gas station. Still, if you’ll be road tripping this summer, sync it up and keep the card in the car in case the stars align and you can save enough to cover a drink or snack after you fill up.

Unless you’re a truck driver? How much is gas where you live? It’s just under $3 a gallon in Florida and closer to $5 a gallon in California. It’s an easy $5 but it’s still just five bucks. One fill up should do it.
Today’s national average is $3.099. I was actually thinking the national average was a bit less right now and thus it would be more gas than most cars take, but at $3.099, it would only take about 16 gallons to max this out. That’s more than many cars take, but plenty of SUVs and pickups take that much for sure. You’re right.
