Fry’s electronics is offering a $100 Southwest Airlines gift card for $85 in-store only today. In order to get this deal, you’ll need to have been subscribed to the Fry’s email list and have your coupon code from this morning’s email. Personally, I don’t live anywhere near Fry’s, but I subscribe to their email list for online deals that require an emailed code now and then.
The Deal
- Get a $100 Southwest Airlines gift card for $85 in-store at Fry’s electronics with email list code (subject line of the email is, “Slide in and Save! 4K TVs Starting at $167! 15% Off Southwest Airlines Gift Card”)
- Direct link to sign up for Fry’s email list (I don’t think this will help you get this deal, but might help you snag a future deal if interested)
Key Details
- In-store only
- Limit 1 per customer
Quick Thoughts
It’s not worth a trip to the store just for this deal, but if you’re happening by a store today, saving 15% on airfare is always a welcome thing. As a Companion Pass holder, I especially like the chance to save on the cost of airfare for Player 1 (though I prefer to book speculative trips on Rapid Rewards points).
Fry’s sends out a lot of emails if you subscribe to the 7-day-per-week emails, so I keep their email going to an account that picks up a bunch of this type of store email (not my daily-use account) and just check it when I hear about a deal at Fry’s. I wouldn’t recommend using your primary account if you get annoyed by a lot of emails. That said, I just noticed that they now offer a subscription to twice-per-week emails and special events, so that might be a decent option.
As noted above, I don’t think you’ll be able to get in on today’s deal if you aren’t already on the email list — though the user who posted this at Slickdeals notes that you may be able to call customer service to get a promo code. YMMV. I usually find a deal or two a year that’s online and/or lines up with a time when I’m actually near a Fry’s, so I’ve been subscribed for a few years. Being subscribed is a questionable value proposition for those not near a Fry’s, but I’d probably take advantage of more deals if I lived near one.
