Marriott’s Eat Around Town, which is their dining program like all of the airline dining programs, is offering 1,000 bonus points when you sign up, use a linked card to spend $30 at a participating restaurant within 30 days, and leave a review. That’s not a huge bonus given that Greg recently determined Marriott points to be worth 0.7c each (about $7), but it’s better than nothing.

Quick Thoughts
Again, the bonus here is relatively small, but it beats no bonus at all and many readers are probably spending well over $30 per month at participating restaurants. In general, I’d probably prefer the 3 airline miles per dollar that you can earn via several airline dining programs over the max of 6 Marriott points per dollar (only for Marriott elite members) for most orders, but I’d take a thousand easy bonus points for my wife and I each if we were spending at included restaurants.
I assume that take-out orders paid for at the restaurant will trigger this bonus, but not online orders placed through GrubHub/UberEats/etc.

Sad, even in a Foodie town like PDX that only about 10 resturants in the CBD and urban/suburban area.
That’s 10 more than there are within 60 miles of me. No whining :-).
Hey free points – we can’t dine but I can still “wine” – will have to pick up since a restaurant we want to actually try is not on any of the delivery platforms.
Since its the same points for dine program as AAdvantage Dining (my card was unenrolled, from enrolling in Marriott) it looks like we actually have lost a ton of locations based on what was listed for AA.
But hey its Marriott, so it was an autonomic reaction to whine.
Does anyone else get an error trying to get the offer?
It’s not just your link. I got an email from Marriott and it gave me a 502 error too.
Doesn’t 1000 bonus points plus an additional 6ppd on exactly $30 spent work out to 39ppd? Granted, that it’s only 1,180 points, but that’s a pretty good return on $30 spend.
