Quick Thoughts
We tend to see these 100K welcome offers at least a couple of times per year, but it’s always good to see them make a return.
These Avios programs are transfer partners of all the major transferable currencies (albeit indirectly via Qatar Avios with Citi), plus we often see transfer bonuses to them. As a result, it’s not hard to get a stash of Avios when needed. These cards are therefore going to be most worthwhile if you can also get value from their benefits.
For example, the British Airways card offers up to $600 in award fee rebates each year on award flights originating in the US. You can also get a 10% discount on paid flights originating in the US, as well as the ability to earn a Travel Together companion ticket after $30K spend in a calendar year.
