For two days only, the Southwest Rapid Rewards Shopping portal is offering 15 points per dollar when you click through to shop at JCPenney.
I wouldn’t recommend buying JCPenney gift cards this way since recent Frequent Miler Laboratory evidence suggests it won’t result in points earned. Using JCPenney gift cards, though, should work fine.
Remember that you can get a Southwest Companion Pass valid for unlimited flights through the end of 2015 by earning 110,000 Rapid Rewards points this year. So, simply buy $7334 worth of JCPenney merchandise and you’ll be good to go! (I’m kidding, there are easier (and cheaper) ways to earn those points such as signing up for 50K SWA offers)

Do you know how quickly the RR portal will show your order? I know the points could take a while to post, no biggie, but just curious how you check if the orders were tracked correctly and are pending to be credited eventually. I used Chrome Incognito mode – log into SW, go to Mall, Click Through, and add the items I previously decided upon and check out. Is incognito mode good practice or hindering my chances of portal success? TIA!
I don’t know, but most mileage portals take at least 3 or 4 days and often much longer to show that an order has been tracked.
