Quick Thoughts
At $80 for $100 in gift cards, many of these are good discounts if you’re buying for personal use. If you are able to pair it with the current Amex Offer that’s good for $10 or 1,000 points back on $50 (depending on your offer), all the better.
I’m not sure whether or not the store will allow you to split tender, but if they do and you use two offers, you’d be saving $40 total on every $100, which would be an excellent deal. I imagine that many locations will sell out of the most popular cards quickly, especially Gamestop as those have the highest resale value and with Cyber Monday coming tomorrow they may come in handy for those still doing holiday shopping.
H/T: Doctor of Credit
They changed the add today!! Great! Only four cards are available now! I wanted the GameStop cards, but they took them off.
Yeah it’s now Michaels, Chilis, Ruby Tuesday, and Catherine’s only. 🙁
OM pulled back this offer. No more discounts
Yeah, it sounds like (I heard this from multiple store employees) it was a total cluster and OM pulled it.
Cool.. just got one for $70 for gamestop. Used it to buy a $100 Uber gift card as we use Uber so much.
Do all Gamestops let you buy an Uber GC with a GC? Or is it hit and miss?
I’d advise against suggesting the split tender with two amex offers. Since you get the 20 off 100 in gift cards instantly, only one of the “spend 50 get 10” offers would trigger or worse off, none as $80 in spend, not $100 is communicated to amex (assuming you blindly did 40 on each card).
Good point! But split tender at $50/$30 does get you $20 from the second credit, which is what I’ll likely do. And then I’ll find a $20 GC in store that’ll give me the second credit.
Actually, I just found a better plan. I’ll buy the gift card deal highlighted in this post, but then I’ll also add a Canon printer for $39.99 that gives me back $30 in rewards points. Will roll those into another deal, or a GC if they let me.
