Update: Chase has added a new restriction to the application page saying you must have stayed at a Hyatt property since May 1, 2015 to qualify.
Chase has a new offer on their Hyatt credit card which is significantly better than the normal public offer. Normally the bonus on the card is 2 free nights at any Hyatt property in the world. For some time you have been also been able to get a version of the offer with a $50 statement credit by creating a dummy booking on the Hyatt website. That was a little tricky though and there wasn’t a direct link.
A New Offer
Free-quent Flyer on Twitter alerted us to a new offer that includes the $50 statement credit, a landing page and another bonus. Here are the details:
- 2 free nights after spending $1K within the first 3 months.
- $50 statement credit after first purchase.
- 5,000 bonus points after adding an authorized user who makes a purchase within the first 3 months.
- $0 Introductory annual fee. ($75 thereafter)
The authorized user bonus is new to the Hyatt card. It is something we have seen recently with other Chase cards such as the Sapphire Preferred and Freedom, but it is nice to see them roll it out to other products. While 5,000 points in some programs isn’t much, it is enough for a free night in a category 1 Hyatt.

so the 5 stays 10 nights credits after spending 40 k , is it only after the first year completion ?
And also we will have extra 40000 points rite ?
so totally we will have 5 stays , 10 night credits + 40 k points after 40k spend annually rite ? then i think its a good card to keep for long time and i hope there are hotels available at the places i want to visit.
The stays should post after you hit the spending threshold. It is based on your cardmember year, so you can only get that credit once per 12 month period. Yes you would also get the points for the spending.
Thanks Shawn for the reply.
So if i get the card now and spend say 40k in 5 months. Ill be having
2 nights any hotel ( card opening bonus ) + 5 stays , 10 nights ( for spending 40 k) + 40k points at the end of 6th month ? is that correct ?
How tough is this card to get ? I just have opened 8 cards , 5 cards showing in my reports and 3 on the way . Out of which 2 are chase SW cards ( on the way) . 10 inquiries in 2 years. score around 680 to 690.
Is there a possibility to get the card ?
Yes that is correct. You will receive the bonus for signing up and meeting the minimum spend and then 40,000 points for your $40,000 in spend. You Hyatt account will also receive the stay credit for the 2016 qualifying year.
My friend made his spending requirement for this card and chase gave him the two free nights but no 50 statement credit and no 5000 points. Even tho he escalated to speaking to a manager chaw refused th badge. They claim the link he signed up with was only for two free nights even though he has a pdf print out of the offer before he clicked on it. He likes the two free nights but he feels he got tricked into signing up for the card because of the offer. He is planning to cancel all his chase cards because of this

Any word on if this may turn into a point-only offer? I have no interest in redeeming at “aspirational” hotels, I’d rather get more nights at run of the mill Hyatts which are still plenty nice, and have the freedom to spread it out as travel dictates.
I haven’t heard anything. The two free nights has been the standard offer for awhile.
There have been rumors swirling that it might come out as a points offer, I believe because of a customer survey from Chase about what people value most, which hinted to it as an option. I’d be all over it if the offer was 40k or 50k points, otherwise meh….until I plan a specific trip to a high-dollar resort.

do i have to spend $1000 in the US only? or can I spend $1000 outside US in other currency? For example, if I spend $1000 in Japanese currency in Japan, does that still qualify for 2 free night? (I travel a lot and I understand that this card has no foreign transaction fees)

Do they free nights have to be BOOKED by 1 year, or does the STAY have to be completed by 1 year?
In my 2012 experience, they just had to be booked within the first 12 months.
