Starting on Sunday 1/3/16, Staples is running a promotion (page 8) offering a $20 Visa prepaid card via rebate with the purchase of $300 or more in Visa gift cards.
The Deal
From 1/3/16 to 1/9/16 you can receive a $20 prepaid Visa card via Easy Rebate with the purchase of $300 or more in Visa gift cards.
For most people it is best to use a Chase Ink card to earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points or an Amex SimplyCash card to earn 5% cash back on top of the rebate. Visa gift cards sold by Staples are issued by Metabank and are pin-enabled.

The rebate says this is in-store only.
I tried in Dallas, the offer is not yet rolled out here yet.

We learn about these regular Staples deals in advance, via the advance posting of next week’s flier to their web site. Shawn’s good for the routine scan each Thursday to catch what’s coming for the following Sunday. (at Staples, that is) Trick then will be knowing which Staples will have a supply on hand when they open Sunday a.m. (and if you miss that, which will resupply and when during the week.)
Would that Office Max gave us advance notice of when they’re going to do their similar (but more lucrative) in-store promotion…. By the time we find out about the OfficeMax promo, the racks are already empty.
The tough thing with Officemax is they share a ciruclar with Office Depot. While there was one deal that was advertised in their circular last year, most of the deals have been Officemax only and thus are only advertised in-store. This makes it tough to learn about ahead of time.
What’s the highest denomination GC Staples sells? $200? Most of the office stores in the Denver area have closed down with the consolidation, but I don’t think a single Staples store has ever closed.
