Bought 2 $200 VGCs at Staples with Ink Plus yesterday. Went to different store tonight and bought 4 more $200 VGCs in 2 separate transactions. Clerk was more concerned with me not using a Staples gift card to buy them and didn’t care that I was using a CC. Came home to file rebate (using my 2 office addresses) and was given message that rebate was still being processed.
Went to Staples today. Picked up 4 visa 200.00 gc. When I swiped my ink bold card the POS asked that I used an alternate payment method. Cashier had no clue. Tried it again but it would not let me pay with my bold card. So left with nothing. 🙁
I went to Staples this morning and purchased 2 $200 Visa gift cards. The Easy Rebate form didn’t print out at the register like it has in the past. I went to the Staples website and printed out the rebate form, but the rebate form lists a bunch of SKUs that aren’t on the receipt or gift card packaging. The Visa gift cards are MetaBank gift cards, but I’m not sure if the rebate is going to go through. The workers at the Staples store seem clueless about this rebate. Anybody else having this same experience?
My Staples was already out of $200s before they opened this morning. Gimme a break.
When you wait for a blog post to give you the ideas this is an issue that crops up (late or sold out). Think outside the box and on your own. Any idea that you get from a blog is already dead or in the process of dying. I implore all readers to use your own mind and get creative. Stop waiting to be spoon fed the ideas. Its lazy and you end up being squeezed out of any good deals.
I don’t think bloggers killed this before the promo was live.
How in the world is this sustainable for Staples?
Just a data point that when my husband went to our usual Store this morning they told him no credit cards can be used for VGC. The manager affirmed but agreed to let him try since my husband said it had just worked a couple of weeks ago there. It did go through the POS system. As a note they are not using the chip system yet. I’m curious if anyone else noticed anything different at their usual place today.
I went to Staples today and asked if they can reserve a $200 and $100 for me cause every time there is a deal, large denominations are usually sold out when I get there. They declined but they showed me the ad for next week. This promotion is not in the store ad (I saw it in the online ad). Will I still get the rebate?
Second question: can I still load vgc at rite aid?
I
I ran into staples today to check out the visa gift card section. Someone asked earlier about what the best scenario was with fees. They did not have a 250.00 or 300.00 Visa cards. So to buy a 200 and a fifty would cost 13.00. Still a 7.00 profit with rebate and your ur points.
Looks like it’s time to wear out the ol’ INK card!
One per household….does that mean one rebate per address?
Yes.
Also worth considering the Amex Offer for 5% off purchases @ Staples > $200. So if you have this offer on one of your Amex cards, you could get your miles/points + statement credit. Depending on how valuable you find the UR points your preferred Amex points, this might work out better for you.
Good point. I have added a mention of the Amex Offer to the post. Thanks!
how many rebates per household can u get?
what is the best denomination in Visa gift cards to purchase to incur least fees?
@josh
Says the person who can’t write. It’s “you’re” not “your.”
Who’s the idiot now?
It appears josh’s original idiotic comment got deleted by the mods.
Yes I deleted the comment because it was an attack on Laura.
Pretty much same question as previous poster. Is this in-store only, or also available online?
Is this coupon available online?
These deals have always been in-store only, so I suspect this one is as well. I have updated the post to reflect this info.
