Starbucks is offering a promotion through Cashstar and Visa Checkout: Buy a $10 Starbucks e-Gift card, get a $10 bonus when you pay with Visa Checkout. If you aren’t a coffee drinker, resale rates on the $20 e-Gift card are currently up to about $15, making it an instant $5 money-maker or a nice discount on your morning cup o’ joe. Additionally, if you are new to Visa Checkout, you can earn 1,000 Marriott Rewards points for signing up and using Visa Checkout within 15 days of signup. If you have not previously used Visa Checkout, today is a good day to sign up.

Quick Thoughts
This is a super easy deal. You won’t earn any category bonuses as far as I know nor are there any shopping portals that will pay out to my knowledge as this transaction is processed by Cashstar. That said, it’s an easy win; you pay $10 for a $20 e-Gift card.
I just completed checkout this morning around 8am Eastern time and it was a breeze – I received the gift card 4 minutes after placing my order. Checking Gift Card Wiki, it looks like Starbucks e-Gift cards can easily be resold at 72-75% of face value publicly (or more depending on your resale relationships).
I double-checked the rate at CardPool and it offered $15.10 for the $20 e-Gift card, a quick flip for $5. Personally, I’ll take ten bucks in free coffee.
Marriott Rewards Bonus if you’re new to Visa Checkout
If you’re new to Visa Checkout, it is a digital wallet similar to PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Android Pay, etc. You do not need to use a Visa card to pay (I used an Amex this morning). If you do not yet have a Visa Checkout account, Marriott is offering 500 points for singing up for a Visa Checkout account and 500 points for using it anywhere Visa Checkout is accepted within 15 days of creating a Visa Checkout account. As I have long had a Visa Checkout account, I have not tested this one out, but based on the terms it should work for an easy 1,000 Marriott Rewards points for those who are new.
The Deal
- Get 500 bonus points for creating a Visa Checkout account and 500 bonus points for using it anywhere Visa Checkout is accepted within 15 days of creating an account

Visa and Marriott may cancel or suspend this offer and any transaction associated with the cardholder’s name, email address or account and close any associated Visa Checkout accounts at any time with immediate effect and without written notice, if Visa or Marriott determines that a cardholder has engaged in fraudulent activity or breached the terms and conditions. Bottom line
Both deals are easy wins — earn some free money, free coffee, and maybe free points while supplies last. According to Doctor of Credit, multiple Visa Checkout accounts have worked in the past, but not the same Stacbucks account, so keep that in mind.
