Quick Thoughts

This is a nice signup bonus on a card that usually only includes a $100 statement credit after first purchase (note: there is no statement credit with this 50K miles offer). Those who want a United Club membership would certainly do better to sign up for this card and get both that membership and 1.5x everywhere to go with a host of other benefits. Keep in mind that there are sometimes targeted offers available for 75K on this card. However, if you haven’t been targeted for one of those offers, this offer is solid considering the benefits.

All that said, this card is known to be subject to the Chase 5/24 rule. In other words, if you have opened 5 or more new credit cards (including all issuers) in the past 24 months, you will probably not be approved for this card.  Those who are  under 5/24 and don’t need the United benefits might be better off with a card like the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Chase Sapphire Preferred. Both of those cards also have 50K-point signup bonuses. Those Ultimate Rewards points could be transferred to United or used with a number of other partners.

Still, for those looking for the United benefits, Hyatt/Hertz status, and 1.5 miles everywhere will certainly be happy to see the increased bonus on this one. Again, find this offer on our Best Offers page.
