This week at Frequent Miler, we wrote about everything from an awesome award chart sweet spot to Africa to a sweet new set of benefits for BOA business cards. If you’re looking to take advance of the sweet set of benefits on your Amex Platinum card, see the guide to setting up those benefits below. All that and more in this week’s Frequent Miler week in review.

Fly business class to Africa for 50,000 miles round-trip (DC to Senegal)

I’m a sucker for a good award chart sweet spot — and this week, John Klukas highlights one of the best I’ve ever seen for those with a desire to visit Senegal or just a sense of adventure and desire for a multi-stop trip. Unfortunately, the opening of a new airport last week in Dakar has rendered this one temporarily impossible to book as that new airport isn’t yet found in Virgin Atlantic’s system. Still, when this one comes back online, it looks like a great way to get to the African continent and explore, taking advantage of inter-Africa award pricing to visit another country or two and/or other award chart sweet spots to get back home.

Stacking rewards via business card spend

We often post about methods to Extreme Stack promo codes, coupons, and shopping portals — but this week, Greg wrote about some great business card offers that stack on top of bonus categories for big savings. From car rentals to hotels to shipping and gas, there are many ways to save even more by stacking some of these free programs.

Marriott status buy back really is gone (2nd confirmation)

While this post is just a short quick tip, it’s worth repeating here as a reminder that Marriott executives are confirming again that the Marriott status buy back will not be on again next year. It’s disappointing, but looks like it’s firm.

Bank of America to launch business version of Preferred Rewards

BOA Business Advantage Relationship Rewards (Now official: up to 5.25% cash back for gas!)

Greg reported on a rumor with his hunches about a new business rewards program from Bank of America. Turns out he was right — and with this new program, you can earn a nice haul on gas purchases, as well as nice rewards in a couple of other categories. Read these posts for the details.

Your Platinum card arrived. Here’s what to do next…

My favorite suite of premium-card perks is without a doubt those that come with the Platinum card. Some of those great perks require a little setup — so whether you’re a new cardholder or a previous cardholder looking to see which benefits you may be missing, see this post for all the details on how to take advantage of these valuable benefits.

Chase Offers enforces gift card terms (sometimes)

Another quick tip here that is worth including this week to reinforce that Chase Offers are posting inconsistently when it comes to gift card purchases. Since these offers are still so new, we don’t yet have the pattern down as to what works and doesn’t — if there even is one to be found. Read on for more details.

Chase Financial Review: Results are in

Last week, I wrote a post about my wife’s recent run-in with Chase Financial Review. As of last week, we knew very little about what to expect — other than that the range of possibilities included everything from nothing at all to a complete shutdown of her Chase cards. The results are in — find out the outcome and whether or not they requested any additional information during the review.

That’s it for this week at Frequent Miler. Check back soon for our week in review around the web and this week’s last chance deals.
