American Airlines is offering a great fare for travel between Newark and Las Vegas — starting at $105 round trip (with most dates available around $107) — and it is not basic economy. Available dates are extremely limited. with departures on select dates between February 21st and February 27th and returns on select dates through March 6th (and select dates in a similar range available for trips starting in Las Vegas and traveling to New York).
Can you select seats? Is it basic econ?
As noted, these are not basic economy fares. You will be able to select your seats.
These cheap fares are available via online travel agencies like Orbitz, which should give you 24 hours to cancel without penalty.
How many miles can I earn?
According to ITA Matrix, I believe these are mostly “O” class fares, which don’t earn many miles with anyone according to WhereToCredit.com.
Bottom line
This one is limited in scope, but if you live in New York or Las Vegas and would like to take a spontaneous trip, these fares are very low and enable you to select your seat and bring a carry-on. These prices likely won’t last, so book through an OTA to give yourself 24 hours to make up your mind.
