Hilton’s Q2 promo is offering double points for all stays but if you have one of the Hilton American Express credit cards, that’ll increase to triple points for July stays.
The Deal
- Get double points on every stay from May 1, 2018 to
August 31, 2018. Update: Extended through September 9, 2018 - Direct link to registration page.
- Use any Hilton Honors American Express card on Hilton purchases in July 2018 and earn triple points.

Double Points
- Offer valid for stays completed May 1, 2018, through
August 31, 2018September 9, 2018 at any hotel or resort within the Hilton Portfolio excluding Hampton by Hilton Hotels in Mainland China. - Hilton Honors™ members must first register at HiltonHonors.com/DoublePoints prior to completing a stay within the Promotion Period.
- Registered Hilton Honors members will only receive Bonus Points for nights completed during the Promotion Period, regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends.
- Registered Hilton Honors members will earn Double Hilton Honors Bonus Points per stay during the Promotion Period. “Double Points” means you will receive a bonus equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay.
- There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the Promotion Period with this offer. However, there are restrictions on the amount of Base Points that can be earned on a single stay at certain brands.
Triple Points
- From July 1, 2018 through July 31, 2018, Hilton Honors American Express Card Members registered in the Double Points Promotion will receive Triple Hilton Honors Bonus Points per stay. “Triple Points” means that for each dollar spent using your Hilton Honors American Express Card on stays at a property within the Hilton portfolio during the month of July, you will receive from Hilton 10 Hilton Honors Base Points plus 20 Bonus Points.
- Hilton Honors American Express Card Members who enroll in the Double Points Promotion will be automatically enrolled in the Triple Points Promotion.
- To be eligible for this offer you must have an active Hilton Honors American Express Card, Hilton Honors American Express Ascend Card, Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card, or a Hilton Honors American Express Business Card.
- Points earned through this offer are in addition to any points earned through purchases made on your Hilton Honors American Express Credit Card.
Quick Thoughts
I love when Hilton Honors offers these triple points promos, but it’s a shame that this one is only for the month of July.
If you do have any Hilton stays planned in July, there’s the potential to earn up to 54 points per dollar on Hilton stays. That’s how many points you’d earn if you have the Hilton Aspire card:
- 10 base points
- 20 bonus points (from triple points promo)
- 10 bonus points (from Diamond status with the Aspire card)
- 14 bonus points (from putting spend on Hilton Aspire card)
Even if you only have Gold status which comes with the Hilton Ascend card, you’ll still earn 50 points per dollar:
- 10 base points
- 20 bonus points (from triple points promo)
- 8 bonus points (from Gold status)
- 12 bonus points (from putting spend on Hilton Ascend card)
That means for every $200 of spend at Hilton properties, you’d earn enough points for a free stay at one of their 10,000 point properties. Even if you don’t want to stay at a category 2 property, this promo means you can quickly rack up Hilton Honors points for stays at more desirable properties.
