MGM Resorts Amex Offer Terms 6,000 Membership Rewards

Quick Thoughts

If you’re looking to stay in Las Vegas, this Amex Offer could save you up to 20% on your hotel. Even better, you can get extremely low room rates (before taxes and resort fees) when booking direct with M life. You can also credit stays to World of Hyatt, helping you rack up elite night credits at a low cost. (Edit: Per Steve’s comments below, comped nights might not earn World of Hyatt elite night credits.)

For example, there’s currently a promotion on the M life website offering up to three complimentary nights at the Luxor. (Edit: As per Nick’s comment below, it looks like these offers are targeted, so you might have different offers available.) I actually found five complimentary nights showing in a row and, when adding a sixth night, the total cost crossed the $300 threshold for the Amex Offer.

MGM Resorts Luxor Complimentary Night

Note that this includes taxes and resort fees which come to a ridiculous $41.62 per night. Still, when subtracting the $60 Amex Offer you’d be paying a net $276.74, or only $46.12 per night.

You’ll get even more value out of the deal if you have the MGM Resorts Amex Offer that’s offering 6,000 Membership Rewards, assuming you value Membership Rewards at greater than a penny apiece. Add in the World of Hyatt points and elite night credits and you’ll do even better.

If the room rate for your stay doesn’t come to $300, you can charge meals to your room to help take you over the $300 threshold. What’s nice is that you can charge meals back to your room when eating at any MGM Resorts property. For example, when staying at the Bellagio, you can go for the Aria buffet and charge it to your room.

Be aware that when booking directly with M life, the hotel often won’t charge you until you check in, or they might only take a deposit. If your stay is after the Amex Offer expires on August 30, give the hotel a call before booking to ensure they’d be willing to charge your card before your arrival. There’ll likely be another Amex Offer when this one expires, but there’s no guarantee.

Is it possible to pay the bill with multiple cards at check out to take advantage of this multiple times?

Sahil B

Any idea if the $300 needs to be spent in one transaction? We found a deal that requires a deposit while booking and pay the remaining balance at checkout. The total is greater than $300, but in two separate transactions. Thanks

Sahil B

Thanks!

dan

has any folks bought a GC & charged to the room? that way, will it likely count towards $300?

Steve

“You can also credit stays to World of Hyatt, helping you rack up elite night credits at a low cost.”

I would like to see confirmation of this, as what I have heard is that comped nights at MLife hotels do not count toward Hyatt elite status.

Tony L.

Do you have the link for the comp nights offer ? I couldn’t find it on their site.

Nick Reyes

I just logged into my account and found that my offer was for 4 free nights at Luxor / Excalibur or 3 nights at NY NY / Park MGM or 2 nights at MGM / Mandalay Bay or 1 night at Delano. Looks like it might be targeted with some different offers out there.

HanShotFirst

In general comp offers are gaming offers and are related to your play at Mlife casinos. However, I have seen some instances of the lower level resorts in their portfolio with little to no play. I know there is a difference in offer codes that start with CE vs those that start with GI but I don’t remember the specifics.

Additionally, there is sometimes a difference in the offers on the MGMresorts website relative to the individual hotel websites (i.e. the actual Luxor website) that may or may not be better.

Steve

Can you combine those offers into a long trip, or does booking one remove/exclude the others?

HanShotFirst

No, Mlife offers need to be 72 hours apart between uses. However, spouses can book individual offers back to back on their own accounts.

Do you also get Hyatt elite benefits, stay credits, and points on such stays?
