Starbucks is offering a (targeted) promotion today (Tuesday, 6/26) to earn Gold status with a single purchase. Some members have reported receiving emails about this — I saw the notification when I pulled up the app (you’ll likely have to open your app to see if you are targeted). My wife will be passing by a Starbucks today and surely in need of a coffee after Baby Rey kept us up half the night last night, so I’m going to load up my account on her phone so she can stop in for a coffee and pick me up Gold status in the process.

Quick Thoughts
Gold status normally requires earning 300 stars in a year ($150 in purchases). Once you have Gold status, which you would keep for a year, you can earn a free item every 125 stars ($62.50 in spend). You also get a personalized Starbucks Gold card in the mail, but don’t get excited — as per the Starbucks site, it’s not as good as it sounds.
That said, I’ll take free status as we’ll spend more than $62.50 at Starbucks this year and be happy to pick up a free item or two, and I’ve somehow missed a number of the other promos for Starbucks Gold status.

You need to call the Starbucks @ 800-782-7282. I called and was told that there is a problem with the rewards program changing over to gold status. The lady updated my status while I was on the phone.
My daughter is still waiting for her Gold
Purchased a sandwich this morning after seeing the offer – the title seems to imply that you need to buy a drink but that’s not true based on the T&C. It’s almost been 12 hours, still no notification that I’m gold..
I would expect it takes at least 24 to 48 hours for the gold status to reflect. My wife but her coffee this afternoon and mine isn’t gold either, don’t worry.

Same here. I’ve been a Starbucks reward member since December 2017. I made a purchase and haven’t event got a receipt. My gold status invite notification disappeared around 6am this morning that’s my only memory I’ve got.
Just get a Nespresso machine
I’ve got one. It doesn’t travel well.
