Amazon has a great Prime Day Deal on Bose QuietComofrt 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones for both Apple and Android devices. See below for how to get them down to $85.40. I’ve added this to our running list of Prime Day Deals.
The Deal
- Bose QuietComfort 25 Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphones fpr Apple / Android for $125 (if you have the 20% off promo available, these come down to just $85)
How to get the low price
Right now, these headphones are on sale for $125, which is already an excellent price for this model.
However, it can get better. If you have not yet maxed out the recent deal to get 20% off when paying with at at least 1 Amex Membership Rewards point (See: Up to $100 off at Amazon: working on gift cards — note that deal no longer works on Amazon gift cards, but it’ll work great on a deal like this). As was discovered at Doctor of Credit earlier today, those who are still eligible for that promotion are seeing a better-than-expected discount on some items. With some items, such as these headphones, the 20% discount when paying with one point is applying to the original price rather than the discounted price. In this case, you’ll see that the code is taking off about forty bucks — which would be twenty percent of the ~$200 original price.
As you can see above, that brings the total before tax down to $85.40. That’s an excellent deal that I imagine will not last. If you’re interested, that’s worth it even if if just buying to rent as I imagine you could probably use them and later sell them and get most (if not all) of your money back.

I applied the point, but didn’t get the 20% discount. I just got $0.01off the total price. I have never used points for discounts on Amazon in the past, so I am not sure why I am not getting the deal?
[…] may recognize the headphones above from a Quick Deal last night (See: Great deal: Bose QC 25 for $85.40 w/ stacking promos). In that deal, I said the headphones would come down to $85.40. What I hadn’t paid attention […]

What kind of bizarre system does Amazon run? As noted in the comments, with everybody doing exactly the same thing, prices have been $85.40 and $69.20, and from elsewhere I have seen $77 and when I ordered, I got two sets for $75 each and then immediately ordered another set and they were $95. And for some not insignificant number of people, it seems the AMEX discount won’t work at all. This is the mighty Amazon that every e-commerce company wants to emulate?
I don’t totally understand the differences — but the $69.20 price is for the Apple version. I hadn’t paid attention when I wrote up the post — the original price of the Apple version is higher than the Android version — so the 20% off chunk is larger on that version than the Android version (20% of $279 vs 20% of $198). So the Apple version comes down to $69.20.
I think your price difference is that you had used up most of the 100 limit on the 20% on the first pair…
I used up all of the $100 on the first two pairs, but still got $30 off the last pair
Incredible that they’re taking the 20% off the list price ($279) instead of the selling price! I assume the same would happen on any other big Prime Day discounts?
Thanks for the tip. I actually paid $69.20 plus tax for the headphones using the 20% off code.

I just tried this and it tells me pay with points is unavailable on this item and to contact American Express if I would like to purchase the item. I believe it may be dead?
I’m not sure why you’re having that error. I just started from scratch and changed my payment method to an Amex Membership Rewards card and chose to pay with 1 point and right now (at 7:10pm Eastern), it was still taking the $40 off.
I hate that I’m not eligible for the 20% Amex MR promo on Amazon. I have 2 MR-earning Amex cards linked and can use the points to pay. But this promo it says I’m not eligible for. Would have been perfect for this
