Yesterday, we reported a terrific airfare from San Jose to China for under $300 in economy class. Today, Delta has put premium economy on sale to and from China, with flights out of both Los Angeles and Detroit on the A350 in true premium economy starting from $722.

The Deal

  • Delta Premium Economy sale to/from China (including aboard the A350 in a true “premium economy” class) with Los Angeles-Shanghai from $722, Orlando to Beijing from $827, and more

Quick Thoughts

You’ll want to search Google Flights for dates and prices. Los Angeles to Shanghai and Detroit to Beijing are both served by the A350 with the full premium economy experience, so you’ll want to look at a route that includes one of those flights. The direct trip from Los Angeles to Shanghai is on sale from $722, and availability at reduced rates starts in October and looks pretty good in November:

If you’re looking to connect, just be sure to choose wisely. For example, the cheapest itinerary from Orlando to Beijing connects in Seattle, but if you want to fly on the A350 you’ll want to choose  the option that connects through Detroit for a bit more.

If you’re thinking about an end-of-year status run, this could be a way to do it in relative comfort. On the other hand, you might want to consider whether it makes more sense to fly or spend. See: Delta mileage running: flying vs. spending for more.
