Wyndham Vacations is offering point and night packages for those willing to sit through a timeshare “vacation ownership” presentation. The best packages from a value standpoint include 3 hotel nights and 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points for $199 (plus tax). Even if you only valued the points, that’s a chance to pick up points well below our Reasonable Redemption Value, though you do have to consider the value of your time since you’ll be stuck committing to a timeshare presentation as well.

Quick Thoughts
Given the fact that our Reasonable Redemption Value for Wyndham points is 1.01c per point, you should be able to get $300 or more in value out of 30K points. Buying the points alone for $199 would be a good deal, but if you also value the hotel stay that this can be a strong option to consider.
Do note that you’ll need to sit through a 120-minute timeshare presentation as part of the deal. You’ll want to read Stephen’s Wyndham Timeshare Presentation Survival Guide before you go. While some people surely love their timeshares, I would recommend only attending if you know you won’t be pressured into buying on the spot.
Somewhat interestingly, as is the case with some other timeshare offers, you can choose to be put up in either the local Wyndham Vacation Club or a comparable hotel in many cases. In some cases, those comparable hotels may not be within the Wyndham chain. For instance, in Las Vegas, one of the options listed is the Flamingo and in Myrtle Beach they list the Four Points by Sheraton. If you’re able to snag a weekend in Vegas with some of these offers, that could certainly be an excellent deal. And if you choose a chain like Marriott, you certainly can’t count on receiving elite night credit or points, but when I did a Bluegreen Vacations offer and stayed at a Residence Inn, I did get credit for the stay with Marriott.
If you do this deal, I would recommend keeping some screen shots. When I click through to the page for the Orlando offer, it lists 30K points next to the “purchase now” button, but in the fine print at the bottom it notes that you’ll receive 15K points. I imagine that the 30K points will be honored and it’s just some copied terms at the bottom that weren’t updated, but I’d keep a screenshot just in case.
Are there some blackout dates? I’m the one who picks the dates. If that’s the case I’d like to go during CES in Las Vegas when hotel prices are outrageous.
Could this be done?
Can I attend the sales pitch in a different city?
