Frequent Miler's latest team challenge, Million Mile Madness, is happening now! Follow us as Greg, Nick, and Stephen compete to earn 1 Million SAS miles by flying 15 airlines before November 23rd. Who will complete the challenge with the most Speed, Affordability, and Style?
There is a new offer out to earn a super easy 40K American Airlines AAdvantage miles. Previously only available via in-branch application, there is now a link to apply online for the Barclaycard Aviator Business Mastercard, and the signup bonus is 40,000 American Airlines Miles after first purchase and payment of the annual fee. That’s not quite as good as the 60,000 miles being offered on the personal version of the card, but it’s still a very easy signup bonus. We have added a link to this offer on our Best Offers Page.
The Offer
- 40,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles with first purchase and payment of the annual fee
Key Card Details
- Earns 2x on American Airlines
- Earns 2x at eligible office supply, telecom, and car rental merchants
- Earns 1x everywhere else
- Annual 5% bonus on earned miles after your account anniversary
- First checked bag free
- Preferred boarding
- $95 annual fee is not waived
Quick Thoughts
This is a super easy signup bonus to earn — simply buy anything, even a pack of bubble gum, and pay the annual fee. It doesn’t get much easier than that. On the other hand, the offer isn’t as strong as that on the Aviator personal (currently 60K after first purchase). Still, if you’re looking for a Barclaycard business card, this offer certainly isn’t bad as an easy way to pick up some miles. Note that Barclaycard business cards sometimes report to the personal credit bureaus (YMMV), so this card is not necessarily useful for getting/staying under 5/24. Again, find a link on our Best Offers Page.
H/T: US Credit Card Guide
Looking at the Business card, but I have a current personal Aviator card.
Their language is: “The Signing Individual will earn sixty thousand (60,000) AAdvantage® bonus miles after a first purchase is made on the Account within ninety (90) days of Account opening. This one-time AAdvantage® bonus mileage offer is valid for first-time cardmembers with new accounts only. Existing cardmembers, existing accounts, and previous cardmembers with accounts closed in the past 24 months may not be eligible for this offer.”
Opinions/experience as to whether I’d get the bonus miles on the business card?
You would get the bonus. That clause is excluding those who are/were Aviator Business cardmembers. You’re an Aviator personal cardmember. Those are different products.

My husband just applied, with only 3 credit applications in the last 6 months, and a legitimate business, and it went into pending. Will call recon line on Monday.
Does anyone know definitively if this card is reported to the credit bureaus?
I’m under 5/24, but would love to add this card to the collection. Thanks
I understand this to be YMMV in the sense that it reports to personal for some people and not others.
