Update: Many readers have reported that they’ve not received the bonus miles from this offer. We’ve reached out to Mileage Plan to try to get the issues looked at, but for now there’s definitely some risk that you’ll be paying for Greenlight and not earning bonus miles in return.
~
We shared yesterday about the ability to earn 25x Alaska Airlines miles on 1-800-Flowers and Harry & David orders. If you can’t get enough of Mileage Plan miles, there’s another easy opportunity to earn 4,000-6,000 bonus miles which only needs to come at a cost of $5.99.
The Deal
- Earn Alaska Airlines miles when setting up a Greenlight account and paying the first monthly fee:
- Mileage Plan members – 4,000 bonus miles
- MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K & MVP Gold 100K Members – 6,000 bonus miles
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires March 19, 2026.
- New Greenlight customers are eligible for Alaska Airlines miles when they sign up for Greenlight from this page and provide a valid Alaska Airlines Number.
- Miles are paid out after customers pay for their first month of Greenlight and remain customers for 15 days after paying for their first month.
Quick Thoughts
Greenlight is a service that enables you to open an account for your child(ren) and provide them with a debit card that earns 1% cashback on purchases.
Greenlight has three different plans costing $5.99, $9.98 or $14.98 per month depending on which features you want:
The terms for this Alaska Airlines promotion don’t state that you need to subscribe to a specific type of plan, so a Core plan costing $5.99 per month should suffice. You get the first month free, so you’ll need to keep the account open beyond that first month in order to be charged the first monthly fee, then you’ll need to keep the account for at least 15 days after that charge date. Unless there’s some kind of weird billing setup, that means that you should be able to earn 4,000 or 6,000 bonus miles (depending on your status level) for just one $5.99 monthly fee.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members now earn 1,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) for every 3,000 redeemable miles they earn through shopping partners. Provided Greenlight is regarded by Alaska as being a participating partner, Mileage Plan members with some level of MVP status will earn 2,000 EQMs in addition to the 6,000 miles, while regular members will earn 1,000 EQMs.

The 4,000 miles just posted after multiple calls to Green Light. No EQM posted.
A marketing promotion turned into a nightmare customer experience.
I received my 6,000 RDM but only got 1,000 EQM. Did anyone else have this same issue?
Update: Talked to Mileage Plan, they are in agreement that the 6K RDM should earn 2K EQM. She put in a ticket for me to get the other 1K. My best guess is this happened because the initial 4K showed up in Mileage Activity under the “Miles” column while the extra 2K showed up under the “Bonus” column and the EQM is being awarded based on the miles, not the bonus.
My points finally posted!
Boi, I was hopeless already! LOL
Got mine backdated to 3/9! yay!
Yup got ours today backdated to 3.8 as per other posters
just got my points deposited today!
was backdated to 3/8
Finally got my 4k miles, looks like it was backdated to march 8
My wife and I both got our 4k miles, as of 4/14.
My Greenlight 6k posted today, though it was backdated to 3/9/25 in my Mileage Plan activity.
Signed up 1/23/25$5.99; Greenlight fee was charged 2/22/25; Initiatied the Greenlight account close on 3/21/25 but was offered the 3 month free extension, so I accepted.
Also got the 2k EQM for 1:3 ratio on partner earnings.
Same here – received the 6k miles backdated to Mar 9. But I only received 1k EQM for some reason. Given I have the 6k miles which includes 2k bonus from status, I should have received the additional EQM as well.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Yes also just got only 1k EQM. Will be writing in to ask for the other 1k.
I got 4000 RDMs and 1000 EQMs. No elite status last year.
@Stephen – do you guys have any contact with MileagePlan who you could reach out to about this offer? Surely AS must have been involved in creating the offer in some form.
Alternatively, should we all just send complaints to AS directly via https://www.alaskaair.com/feedback/mileage-plan ?
I check every Monday morning. Yet again… no miles.
It’d definitely be worth reaching out to Alaska Airlines if you’ve not earned your bonus miles. I’ve just sent an email to our contact at Alaska Airlines, so hopefully that’ll help too.
Thanks, some miles have posted now, in my case 4K RDM and 1K EQM.
Still no Alaska miles and am on month 2 of greenlight.
Same. Seems to be a complete scam.
Update: got 4,000 Alaska Miles from the Greenlight promo. I thought ut was supposed to be 6,000 but no idea how to inquire.
Ridiculously poor customer service by Greenlight. they keep making up reasons why the miles have not posted. No miles as of April 6. They refunded my first month fee after I complained.
Does this card actually work? After paying for one month of service, the $10 balance had dropped to $4.01. I tried using it to buy something for $3.99 at a grocery store and the transaction failed with insufficient funds.
And of course, the miles haven’t posted.
Has anyone received their miles yet?
No. I already cancelled my accounts after they were charged, hopefully that doesn’t jeopardize anything.
Same
I decided to close my Greenlight account today to avoid another monthly fee. During the close process they asked for a reason, and I selected “Does not meet my expectations”. I was then offered three months of free service. Accepted that. Hopefully in those three months the miles will post.
Same here. Accepted the 3 month free extension.
