We shared yesterday about the ability to earn 25x Alaska Airlines miles on 1-800-Flowers and Harry & David orders. If you can’t get enough of Mileage Plan miles, there’s another easy opportunity to earn 4,000-6,000 bonus miles which only needs to come at a cost of $5.99.
The Deal
- Earn Alaska Airlines miles when setting up a Greenlight account and paying the first monthly fee:
- Mileage Plan members – 4,000 bonus miles
- MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K & MVP Gold 100K Members – 6,000 bonus miles
- Direct link to offer.
Key Terms
- Expires March 19, 2025.
- New Greenlight customers are eligible for Alaska Airlines miles when they sign up for Greenlight from this page and provide a valid Alaska Airlines Number.
- Miles are paid out after customers pay for their first month of Greenlight and remain customers for 15 days after paying for their first month.
Quick Thoughts
Greenlight is a service that enables you to open an account for your child(ren) and provide them with a debit card that earns 1% cashback on purchases.
Greenlight has three different plans costing $5.99, $9.98 or $14.98 per month depending on which features you want:
The terms for this Alaska Airlines promotion don’t state that you need to subscribe to a specific type of plan, so a Core plan costing $5.99 per month should suffice. You get the first month free, so you’ll need to keep the account open beyond that first month in order to be charged the first monthly fee, then you’ll need to keep the account for at least 15 days after that charge date. Unless there’s some kind of weird billing setup, that means that you should be able to earn 4,000 or 6,000 bonus miles (depending on your status level) for just one $5.99 monthly fee.
Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan members now earn 1,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs) for every 3,000 redeemable miles they earn through shopping partners. Provided Greenlight is regarded by Alaska as being a participating partner, Mileage Plan members with some level of MVP status will earn 2,000 EQMs in addition to the 6,000 miles, while regular members will earn 1,000 EQMs.

anyone gotten the points yet? they charged me today $4.98 to my venmo which was kinda weird
Funded account with the minimum $10. Do I still need to order the debit card?
Do you need a SS# for the child or any sort of proof it’s a real person?
Wondering the same.
Nope. Date of birth and name.
And for completeness, they also didn’t ask for my SSN.
looks like it asks for the last 4 of SSN?
last 4 of the parents SSN
Asked me for a copy of a utility bill.
I just gave birth 24 hours ago and have decided to put my child up for adoption. But only after I signed them up for Greenlight first. Need my 6K miles!
I saw their referred reward on their site. If you refer a friend, both gets $30 after sign up for 35 days. Do I get $30 bonus for using your link?
I’m afraid not. The link in the post isn’t a referral link – it’s Alaska Airlines’ partner link. If you use a referral link, you wouldn’t be able to earn the Alaska miles and vice versa.
Got it. Thanks
With all the different “everyday partner” offers qualifying for EQM now, I’m being careful which ones I go for and when. Do I really need the 2000 EQM from this right now, in January 2025, at the start of the membership year? I’m imagining it’s once per Mileage Plan account lifetime. The program change later this year may throw that into some flux, but for now I’m just taking notes.
“Offer valid until 3/19/2025.”
I may not need the EQM, but I also may not be able to get them later if I do need them, so I personally signed up now.
I did this deal last year and got the 6K AS miles for being AS MVP. Here are the data points and timeline:
New Greenlight customers are eligible for Alaska Airlines miles when they sign up for Greenlight from this page and provide a valid Alaska Airlines Number. Miles are paid out after customers pay for their first month of Greenlight and remain customers for 15 days after paying for their first month. Regular Alaska Mileage Plan Members are eligible for 4,000 miles and MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K, and MVP Gold 100K Alaska Mileage Plan Members are eligible for 6,000 miles. Offer valid until 3/19/2025.
Grant. Have you experimented with loading debit cards to greenlight?
Yes I would like to know the answer too
No, I didn’t try loading any debit cards in the Greenlight app.
I tried loading a visa debit card from giftcards.com. Failed.
When did you cancel the account?
I closed my account through the Greenlight app on 12/28/24.
I would assume that “valid until 3/19/25” means that we need to follow the above link and sign-up for the service by 3/19/25 to invoke the AS miles…or complete the offer by 3/19/25?
I think you need to sign up by 3/19/25, but if you want to be safe, I would try to sign up and complete the requirements before 3/19/25.
Grant, thanks for the info. I’m easily confused can adults sign up for this too?
This app is designed for parents with children, but if you don’t have any children, you can play the role of parent and child. They don’t check.
This is clutch if it actually awards 2K EQM. Signed up, we’ll see how it goes.
Looks like you also need to deposit $10 to a child’s account, so is it worth 15.99 and the hassle? I’m not convinced.
you get the $10 back by withdrawing after 15 days. 5 min of work for 666 miles per dollar is sollid. 4K points can be useful ya never know
