5% back on Hilton stays with new Amex Offer [targeted, enrollment required]

There’s a new targeted Amex Offer out this morning that is good for 5% back on Hilton stays. You’ll need to enroll if targeted, though I am not terribly excited about this one given the fact that we’ve seen offers good for a much higher percentage as compared to spend. Still, if you have a very expensive Hilton stay coming up, the $100 cap here could be handy.

The Deal

• A new targeted Amex Offer is out that’s good for 5% back at participating Hilton properties in the US and US territories up to $100 back between 7/1/24 and 9/30/24 [Enrollment required]

• Offer valid only at participating Hilton properties in the US and US territories.
• Reservations must be made online at US website Hilton.com, through the Hilton Honors app or by calling 1-800-445-8667.
• Offer does not apply to advance purchase rates, including Advance Purchase, Save Now & Pay and Non-refundable rates.
• Corporate Cards are not eligible for this offer.
• Excludes Hilton Grand Vacations Brand & gift card purchases. Offer only valid on room rate and room charges.
• Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date.
• Offer is non-transferable.
• Valid only on purchases made in US dollars.
• Limit of $100 in total statement credits per Card Member.

Quick Thoughts

The extra 5% here is nice enough if it fits your travel patterns and needs, but it isn’t enough to make me consider changing my plans. That’s particularly true for those of us who have a Hilton card offering 12-14x at Hilton properties. I did not find this Hilton offer on our Hilton cards but rather only on other Amex cards in our household. We would therefore be giving up a greater-than-5% return in terms of Hilton points using a Hilton credit card in favor of this statement credit offer.

Still, given that this offer is essentially good for up to $100 back on $2,000 in spend, I imagine that there may be some folks, particularly those who do not have a Hilton credit card, who may be happy enough to put a little extra cash in their pockets. If that’s you, don’t forget that enrollment is required, so you’ll have to be sure to add the Amex Offer. Just be sure that you’ll be using it domestically as the offer is only valid at Hilton locations in the US and US territories.
