A new Citi Offer came out a few days ago that is good for $50 back when you spend $200 or more at Best Buy. That’s a great deal if you’ll be shopping at Best Buy — whether for stuff they sell or an array of third party gift cards.
The Deal
- A new Citi Offer is out that’s good for $50 when you spend $200 or more at Best Buy. Check your Citi Offers for details.
Key Terms
- Valid until 11/30/21
Quick Thoughts
Getting fifty bucks back on a two hundred dollar purchase at Best Buy is obviously a great deal if you have any planned purchases, but this could also be great for their gift card rack if you want to lock in a discount with another brand.
Keep in mind that Best Buy gift cards purchased online are actually sold by Cashstar, so I would not expect this offer to work for Best Buy gift cards purchased online. While the offer terms exclude Best Buy gift cards, I expect those purchased in store to work.
One other thing to note is that if you purchase multiple things in a single online order, it is possible that Best Buy might charge those purchases separately as items ship. It would be best to purchase one $200+ item or head to the store to avoid your order being split since offer terms sound like the $200 needs to be charged in a single transaction.
I am particularly glad to see this offer is valid through 11/30/21 as it should be stackable with numerous holiday sales — including Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Given this and the great AT&T offer that is out now via Citi Offers, we’ll also have to keep a closer look at Citi for more offers to come.
H/T: Doctor of Credit
Did this work on third party Gift Cards?
This will work in store for 3rd party gift cards — not sure about buying those online though… Nick, Stephen, do you know?
I used this offer to buy $200 of Amazon Gift cards at Best Buy on October 5. Now, more than three weeks later, the statement credit has still not posted! 🙁
There’s also another version for $15 back on $200+, up to 3 uses.
I just got the Citi Premier so I am new to Citibank. Is there a place to look for targeted offers in my online account (like the Chase offers) or would this only be via email?
It is available through your online account but hoo boy was it hard to find. I clicked on likely links and got kicked out of my account twice. I was eventually able to get it added to my card but I couldn’t tell you how I did it. Definitely not as easy to find as Amex Offers.
