Quick Thoughts

Curiously, I don’t see the language that I have in the past about only being valid at properties in the US and US territories or within North America, etc. I think this one may be valid worldwide as long as you book directly with Hilton, but YMMV (check the terms). Keep in mind though that this offer will only work with the included brands (Hilton, Curio, and Canopy), not other Hilton brands.

Keep in mind that this does not work on advance purchase rates. Those code differently and will not trigger the offer.

Readers always ask whether gift cards will trigger the credit, but in my experience it is incredibly rare to find a Hilton property that sells gift cards (until a recent offer I didn’t even think they existed, but a couple of readers chimed in to say they had bought gift cards I think). In practice, any charge at the front desk will trigger an Amex Offer (though terms officially exclude gift cards). Whether or not an on-property restaurant will trigger the credit is anyone’s guess — it’ll just depend how that restaurant is coded. Your best bet is to be charging your meal to your room, but if you’re not staying in the hotel I don’t know of a way to know in advance whether or not a restaurant will work (I’d bet it usually wouldn’t, but I’m just guessing).

This certainly could be a nice little savings to stack. Don’t forget to click through a portal before reserving to earn some small additional return (though that can be quite limited depending on your elite status).

Do you have an enrollment link? I’m 0/3 on the Hilton blue personal cards.

U.S. properties only kills this deal for me. I wonder why Amex/Hilton will only encourage U.S. properties? Because of this, I’d rather use a different credit card (not Amex). Another thing is if it would work on Conrad and LXR outside U.S. I could really use this. Although, using an Aspire card (Amex) for this would be worth it due to the resort credit. If that could stack with this and they were doing this offer on Conrad and LXR properties that would be great.

It’s a bit buried in the terms this time, but still US only, at least for me. It’s in the sentence after the last phone number.

After calling/writing several Hiltons around the country I gave up looking for gift cards. They wouldn’t even sell them for a spa day at a resort. Could you give me a hint with the first letter of the state where this unicorn gift card hotel lives? Thank you
