As reported by Doctor of Credit, it is possible to get $50 off a Blacklane reservation with promo code FUTBOL26. That could come in handy for anybody who still has Blacklane credit to use on their Citi Strata Elite card for the period from January to June 30th. get $50 off a Blacklane reservation with promo code FUTBOL26. I believe this is meant to be a promotion for World Cup cities, but I understand that it may work in other US cities as well. Your mileage may vary as to whether this is targeted or limited to certain markets.

The Deal
- Get $50 off a Blacklane reservation with promo code FUTBOL26
Quick Thoughts
The Citi Strata Elite Card comes with up to $200 per year in statement credits for Blacklane. That’s divided up as:
- up to $100 in statement credits from January to June
- up to $100 in statement credits from July to December
If you haven’t yet used your Blacklane credit for this half of the year, this promo code should make it possible for you to get a ride that would ordinarily cost $150 for nothing out of pocket. As a reminder, Blacklane is a chauffeur service, sort of like Uber, but for a more white-glove type service. Generally speaking, it’s more expensive than Uber, although between the promo code and the statement credit from the Strata Elite, you could probably save some over what a similar Uber would cost. I find this most useful for airport drop-offs and pick-ups, although in some cities, you can almost use it as an Uber replacement, as you can order a Blacklane from one location to another in a city like New York.
According to Doctor of Credit, a Blacklane reservation does not finalize the charge until after you’ve completed the ride, so if you haven’t used your January to June credit yet, you’ll need to use it on a ride that you complete before June 30th. Therefore, this code would probably be most useful if you have a near-term need for a ride. On the other hand, if you’ve already used your credit for this half of the year, maybe it is possible to apply this code to a booking for the July-to-December period and use it in conjunction with that credit, since the charge will presumably be finalized later? I’m not sure what the end date for this promo code is meant to be.
When you take Blacklane, everything is included in the cost, so there’s no expectation of an additional tip. Hopefully, some readers are able to make use of this discount.

Unless you book at least an hour in-advance, not able to use these promos. Without the $100/semi-annual Citi Strata Elite benefit, I wouldn’t use Blacklane. Now, when’s BILT gonna finally allow their $100 BILT Cash redemption to work… sheeesh!
I’m jealous of all of you able to use it for airport rides. I tried to use my strata credit last month for what is generally a $45-50 uber ride to ATL from my home and it was over $250. Needless to say, I now consider that strata perk useless.
You now consider it useless because it didn’t work in the one specific situation where you tried to use it? I think you should probably try something at least twice before you consider it useless :-).
Assuming that you ride to ATL in order to get on a plane and fly somewhere else now and then, I’d bet $10 you could find a use at some point. Every six months? Maybe not. I haven’t used mine this six months, either. But I fly enough places that I’m pretty sure I’ll find a use for the next half of the year!
I’ll definitely give it another few shots but it was SO high that I’m not too hopeful.
I was able to find some uses for date nights and events that priced between than airport rides. Hope that might work for you!
I’ve been able to use both my wife’s and mine every 6 months. It’s great from downtown Seattle to the airport (and vice versa), and Montreal (YUL) was right at $100 to downtown Montreal.
Keep trying, you’ll find something to use it for.
It seems to be very demand driven. For example, I’m actually going to the World Cup in Atlanta later this month – I just checked my dates and a ride from my hotel in Midtown to ATL would have been $350 on a world cup weekend – crazy! Swapped the dates out of the world cup zone to mid September and it was a more reasonable $145, not a lot more than I’ve been getting in Raleigh ($120-130ish).
You’re really not saving any money with the credit – I value at $0. It’s just cool to have a chauffeur and nicer vehicle for the same price you would have spent on the Uber anyways. Hopefully you can find something for under $150 so you can use the credit!
Helpful info, thanks. Welcome to Atlanta! Enjoy the games.
Thanks, Nick! It wasn’t working until I put it in all caps and it didn’t work for an airport pickup in Europe, but I was able to use the code for a ride in Orange County, CA in August!
Nice…makes a normally $50 uber to the airport free later this month with the strata credit
If only the promo code lasted into July to cover the return haha
Perfect timing!! This just took a planned airport ride for my wife and I on our anniversary trip this week from about on par with Uber ($60) to insanely cheap ($10) after Strata Elite credit! Thanks Nick!
not work so far for chicago ORD OR new york LGA pickup. keep getting error message “unable to book ride. contact support.”
You might need to enter the code in all caps. I was getting an error message earlier as well.
Just to chime in, I believe Nick is incorrect about needing to complete the ride by June 30th.
I booked a Blacklane last December for a ride in January. The Strata Elite $100 credit was received on the first statement following the completion of the ride in January, but the credit was identified as being for the 2nd half of 2025. So for the purposes of crediting, the booking date and not ride date seems to be what matters.
Similarly, if you have already used your credit for the first half of this year, booking for a ride in July or later would likely not trigger the 2nd half of the year credit. So wait to book until July 1st or later if you want to use the 2nd half of the year credit.
When did the charge post (as opposed to statement)? I’ve used it several times and always had the charge billed about a week or two before the ride. In your case, if it was billed in December, that’s why the 2nd-half credit applied.
Similarly, I booked a ride last December for June, and it didn’t post until this week. It initially shows, then drops off the pending charges and is recharged closer to the ride.
Checking my statement, the charge shows a posted date of December 27th when the reservation was first booked. But I 100% know that it was pending in December, fell off until around the ride date on January 25th, and then was backdated to the December date. Even though the ride was taken in January, and the charge only reappeared in January, the 2nd half of 2025 credit applied.
So, it would seem to me that the original booking date is what determines whether the 1st or 2nd half of the year credit is used, not the date the ride will be taking place or the date the charge shows back up on the account.
If you see the July-Dec 2025 credit being used on your ride, it would seem to confirm my thought (or alternatively, if you see the Jan-June 2026 credit used for your ride, it would prove I’m incorrect). The $100 credit gets added right as the statement closes in my experience so I think you should be able to tell when you get your next statement.
EDIT: Additionally, I found this comment from user “Karl” on the DoctorofCredit which also finds that the credit used is based on the date of the original purchase: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/maximizing-the-200-blacklane-credit-on-citi-strata-elite/#comment-2269737
Especially if you find the same thing in your ride, Nick’s statement “so if you haven’t used your January to June credit yet, you’ll need to use it on a ride that you complete before June 30th.” should instead read “so if you haven’t used your January to June credit yet, you’ll need to use it on a ride that you book before June 30th.”
I read other DPs before that you can actually stack the blacklane credits to do a round trip like Van Bueno said. I already used my Jan-June Credit , so I will book after July to be safe like Van Bueno points out.
Just used it to book an airport ride in Raleigh so not limited to world cup cities
