Turkish Miles & Smiles is out with a promotion that’s so limited in scope as to likely not be useful for most folks, but if you’re looking to travel on a Turkish route during the travel window and you’re traveling with a partner, the mileage rebate could be significant.

Quick Thoughts

This deal is pretty restrictive, but it could also be very valuable if your travel plans happen to thread the needle.

Note that the booking window here begins on February 4th, so this isn’t live for booking yet. That means that even if you’ve got your eye on award availability today, you can’t yet book it to take advantage of this promotion.

However, if you’re able to take advantage starting on Tuesday, you could save quite a bit here. A “saver” business class award ticket (Turkish calls this a “promotional” award ticket) from the US to Istanbul ordinarily costs 65,000 miles one-way. With this promotion, you’d need to pay 130,000 miles for two passengers up front, but then you’d get 65K back within 10 days after travel. A net 65K for two business class award tickets to Turkey is a great deal, particularly given the fact that Turkish offers a very good in-flight experience on many of its planes.

Turkish is particularly well-known for its in-flight catering.

Keep in mind that Turkish adds around $300 in taxes & fees to award tickets. Further, award pricing is cumulative, so it’ll cost you more if you need to connect beyond Istanbul. That said, this deal is valid on the entire Turkish network, so you don’t need to fly to/from the US to take advantage of the deal.
