  • Valid only on reservations made in US dollars
  • Excludes on-board purchases

  • Excludes transfers / transportation to the ship

  • See offer for full terms

Quick Thoughts

This is a terrific deal if you’re looking to book a cruise. The terms even specify that you can book through your preferred travel advisor, so this should be stackable with offers like room upgrades and onboard credits that can often be accessed by agents. It is also valid on one or more transactions, so you should be OK even if paying off the cruise in installments. Getting 33% back on such a high amount of spend seems like a great opportunity if you’re interested in a cruise.

i have the $200 on $500 purchase. i already booked the cruise from Costco. does anyone know if we can use it to pay for pre-boarding excursions?

[…] offer, which means you may not see it in your account at all or you may even see a better offer. FrequentMiler, for example, received a more lucrative version of this offer so check your Amex account to see […]

I agree that this should work through your TA (which you all should use for cruises as they have the best perks, OBC, etc.) but be careful that they run it through the cruise line payment system and not “in-house”. I do this for some customers and it will make a difference to AMEX, I’m sure so just tell the TA the situation when you book it.

Buzz

I got it on my old AMEX Blue. I’m not sure a cruise is in my plans but it’s still a nice offer.

Lukas

I have this $500 off $1,500 offer which I added to my Platinum card. Is there another $200 off cruise credit?

Milezjunkie

I also had $500/$200 back on a personal Platinum card for this deal.

Barry

I sure wish that Costco Travel would accept AMEX. I was looking at a few cruises on their site and found the prices to be better than on Expedia or Royal Caribbean’s website.

Milezjunkie

I’ve only had the charges for cruises come from the cruise line and not the travel agency in all my experience.

Barry

Your statement is correct, but the problem is that Costco Travel doesn’t accept AMEX and I’d like to book the cruise through them to combine their better prices with the AMEX offer.

Rjb

Find a travel agent and ask them to match

Mine shows $350 back on $1500

Anthony

My offer was for Spend 1,000 get 350 back.

Babblespeak

Another data point. This was my offer too. Timely as I want to pay off an April 2022 Royal cruise soon.

Allen Wanye

I got spend 500 get 200 back- which is still a good deal

Chris

That’s the one I got as well

S Nack

Whoa! Wish I had this on my account.
