This is obviously a welcome deal if you have any Hyatt stays coming up between now and the end of June. Keep in mind that this is valid at most Hyatt brands in the US and US territories and is not valid at Hyatt Residence Clubs, MGM, or SLH properties. The Galleria Park Hotel in San Francisco is also excluded.

I’ve called numerous Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Place locations in various cities. All say “We don’t sell physical cards. You have to go online and buy on the website”. So, I find it hard to believe that people are buying gift cards on premises anymore. The real question is.. can you buy gift cards on the Hyatt website and have the AMEX offer trigger? If not, then you’ll just have to stay at a property for at least $300
No, online is processed by Buyatab, not by Hyatt, so that won’t work. Stephen Pepper has purchased GCs on-property a number of times in the past, but not sure if he’s done it during the pandemic. It’s possible that they aren’t carrying them on-property or possible that some still are and others aren’t.
Hey Nick. I never knew Hyatt didn’t process their own gift cards. Thanks for the info. I enjoy your travel blog. Keep up the great work!
I have a stay coming up which should total up to $200, does the front desk sell gift cards of $100 so that I can hit up to $300.
I had and used this promo in Q1. Not appearing now. Is it normal not to get such promos repeated in a short time? Perfectly understandable if so.
I got it in Q1 and used it and got it again today.
does it make sense to use AMEX Green instead of Gold or Plat for 3X?
If you have a choice of which card to add to then definitely green or business blue would be better than a 1x card.
thx
Worked for me buying a $300 GC at a Hyatt House front desk a few months ago.
That was my question… go to a Hyatt and buy a GC? Do you have to be staying there?
No. Just be sure you’re buying at the front desk rather than a gift shop at a resort.
Thanks!
