Best Western promo: 3K bonus points per stay (or night?) up to 30,000 points

Best Western is out today with what could be a lucrative promotion, particularly for those into stacking. The wording of the promotion suggests that you’ll earn 3,000 bonus points per qualified night when you book between March 3-5, 2025 and complete your nights by May 31, 2025, though reading through the terms I think that they might mean 3,000 bonus points per stay. Still, this could be a nice deal, particularly for single-night stays — and even more so if you’ve been targeted for 30% back at Best Western via Capital One Shopping (which came via email for me today).

The Deal

  • Best Western is offering 3,000 bonus points “per qualified night” when you book March 3-5, 2025 and complete your qualified night(s) by May 31, 2025 in the United States, Canada or Caribbean, at a rate eligible for earning Points. Note that as seen below, I believe this is really 3,000 bonus points per stay, which can be as short as one night.

Key Terms

  • Must book between March 3-5, 2025
  • Must complete qualified nights by May 31, 2025
  • Stay must be in the United States, Canada, or the Caribbean

Quick Thoughts

Our Reasonable Redemption Value for Best Western Rewards is 0.61c per point, making this bonus worth about $18.30 back. That could certainly be a decent incremental return on a cheap stay (but may not be compelling at all on an expensive stay).

To be clear, this promotion very clearly says that you will earn 3,000 bonus points when you book a qualified night and complete your night(s). But the terms make it sound like Best Western is conflating the terms “night” and “stay”. See the details:

A “qualified night” for the purpose of this promotion is defined as a stay of at least one night at any Best Western branded hotel in the United States, Canada or Caribbean, at a rate eligible for earning Points, with the exception of a stay booked through an online travel agency, booked through a tour operator, or booked at a special discounted rate (see BWR program rules for further information on qualifying criteria). Multiple check-ins/check-outs at the same property with less than 24 hours between check-out and check-in will only count as one qualified night. Qualified nights that take place during the Promotion Period must be completed on or before May 31, 2025 to be counted towards the promotion.

As you can see, it says that a “qualified night” is defined “as a stay”. It further goes on to note that “multiple check-ins/check-outs at the same property with less than 24 hours between check-out and check-in will only count as one qualified night.” A literal read of those terms tells me that booking 3 consecutive one-night stays at the same property will count as one “qualified night” for this promotion. Again, I’d refer to that as a stay rather than a night to eliminate confusion.

Members can earn the bonus up to ten times. If you have ten one-night stays with at least 24 hours in between check-out and check-in for each one, you should earn 30,000 bonus points. However, a single ten-night stay probably only earns 3,000 points based on my read. That will make this most valuable for those with shorter stays.

As noted at the top, it’s worth keeping an eye on any emails from Capital One Shopping. Today, buried within an email headlined by another offer, I saw an offer for 30% back at Best Western (up to $250 back).

That could certainly make for a really nice stack here. For instance, if I had a Best Western stay booked for $100, I could get $30 back in rewards from Capital One Shopping and $18.30 back from the bonus here, totaling to almost 50% back in value. If you have any card-linked offers for Best Western, it could get better yet.
