(Update) ShopBack portal promo for Frequent Miler readers: $20 signup bonus + $20 when spending $20 by June 30

Update 5/27/25: The original Quest got maxed out, so ShopBack has set up a new Quest for Frequent Miler readers with the same terms; the new link has been updated below. The expiry date has also been extended from May 31 to June 30.

With the previous Quest, some readers registered for it and spent $20, but subsequently found that it was at quota when claiming the $20 bonus. ShopBack has stated that if you meet the following conditions, you should email care@shopback.com and they will ensure you receive the bonus:

  • You opted in to the previous quest
  • You spent $20+
  • You didn’t receive the $20 bonus because of the quota
  • You didn’t set up a fraudulent account

Update 5/26/25: The $20 Quest is showing as being “at quota” at the moment. We’ve reached out to ShopBack to get further details.

Update 5/21/25: ShopBack had initially told us that new users only needed to spend $5 in order to earn the $20 for signing up. They’ve now clarified that you have to earn $5 cashback in order to get the bonus.

The ShopBack shopping portal has an exclusive offer for Frequent Miler readers. You can earn $20 when signing up for the portal for the first time and earning $5 cashback, plus there’s an exclusive Quest which will earn you an additional $20 cashback when spending $20 by the end of June via the portal.

ShopBack signup promotion

The Deal

  • Sign up for ShopBack and earn $5 cashback to earn a $20 bonus
  • Once you’ve joined ShopBack, register for our private Quest and spend $20 at any retailer to earn $20 bonus cashback
    • Quest registration link (don’t register for the Quest until you’ve already signed up for ShopBack to ensure you earn both bonuses)

Key Terms

  • Quest terms: Complete $20 spend from May 20, 2025 12am PT – June 30, 2025 11:59pm PT.

Quick Thoughts

This is a great double bonus because you can earn a total of $40 cashback. As noted above, the $40 comes through two separate promotions.

The first $20 is from signing up for the ShopBack shopping portal and earning $5 cashback. The second $20 is from registering for the Frequent Miler-exclusive Quest which gives $20 bonus cashback when spending $20.

The easiest option will likely to buy a gift card from Giftcards.com, but ShopBack has some competitive rates for other retailers too. For example, at the time of publishing this post, you can earn 18% cashback on Expedia hotel bookings which is capped at $100 per order (i.e. $555 spend).

Interestingly, ShopBack also offers $1 cashback on Amazon purchases when buying via their extension. That’s noteworthy because other shopping portals normally only offer cashback on Amazon purchases – if at all – when buying products in a few select categories.

I have yet to see an FM Quest that doesn’t say “out of reach”. :/

Has anyone been able to actually withdrawal their money? Its been 5+ weeks now and no $ is able for withdrawal.

Data point about Shopback (and apparently it’s pretty common, now that I’ve poked around in forums): They unilaterally shut down my account after I used them half a dozen times or so for their $1 per order cashback deal with Amazon. I tried to log in and got the message that my account had been disabled and that I should contact customer service. I did so, and got a generic email back from their support team that said my account had been shut down for fraud based on reseller activity. I hadn’t resold anything; I just bought some stuff on Amazon. They were utterly uninterested in talking about it further and did NOT allow me access to what I had earned in my account. They just kept it. Had I know this was going to happen, I would’ve used a different cashback Chrome extension for all of those shopping trips.

How long is it taking for people to have cash available to withdrawal? It’s been a month and the money shows up as earnings but not available to withdrawal.

Valerie

I am almost at a month and it is all still pending.

It is worth warning people that Shopback shut down people’s accounts without reason or explanation, even if you have engaged in no problematic behavior. It’s now happened to several people I know. I’d avoid at all costs unless you like clicking through a portal and receiving absolutely no cash back. A fly-by-night scam.

Amanda

I am not having success with getting Shopback to honor the $20 bonus for the original quest where the quota was exceeded. I have emailed care@shopback.com three times and keep getting the same response from Candice. “Upon reviewing your challenge progress, it looks like the challenge you participated in was fully redeemed before your cashback was tracked. I know this can be disappointing, but our challenge bonuses run in real-time and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. If your order tracked after the bonus pool was fully claimed, you unfortunately won’t qualify for that specific bonus.”

Have you heard of others having this issue?

Amanda

Just got notification that they posted the bonus. Thank you for reaching out to them!

I get the same garbage response! Such a scam!

Signed up, made 5 Amazon purchases for the first part of the promo, came back to the link for the quest and maybe the next quota was reached. I got this pop up:

This quest is out of reach…

Some quests are time-limited or for select Cashback hunters. But fear not, there’s plenty more to explore!

Signup is asking for my cell phone. Don’t love giving that for $40…are other folks just going for it?

Jungle B

This is the message I receive when I click on your quest link. I signed up through your referral when the previous quest was already at capacity, and now I’m not allowed to enter this new quest? What in the world?

What’s going on with the Pepper app? I haven’t been able to use it for a few weeks now. Got the message at one point that they were upgrading the app and our points “are safe.” Really not sure what’s happening with them. Any insights??

Barb T.

Doesn’t sound very promising. Thanks for the response!

How long does it typically take Shopback to credit cashbacks? I’ve been doing a few transactions with them the past week and I’ve seen no credits. My initial impression is these guys are not ready for primetime. My topcashback credits typically post within a day, and sometimes within an hour.

I activated the $20 quest and made a purchase that took several days to track. When I tried to claim it, the quest already reached its quota so I couldn’t claim it. So not only do you have to remember to manually claim a quest after finishing it, you have to hope it hasn’t run out by the time you do! Scammy site.

S S

Note that your description is wrong — the quest bonuses will not trigger the $5 requirement for the sign up bonus. You must earn $5 cash back from purchases specifically.

It’s over already? 🙁

Bonus quest is “at quota”, just another bait and switch scam site!
