Barclays sent a targeted email to some Wyndham cardholders yesterday, offering up to $75 back in statement credits on up to $750 of travel spend through the end of September.

Wyndham card spending offer

The Deal

  • Eligible Wyndham cardholders can earn statement credits on travel spend this summer:
    • Spend $250 & get $25
    • Spend $500 & get $50
    • Spend $750 & get $75

Key Terms

  • Expires September 30, 2025.
  • Eligible travel categories include flights, hotels, rental cars, Wyndham Travel Bundles, and more.
  • This offer is not cumulative and you will only be eligible for one of the offers (the highest statement credit) for which you qualify.

Quick Thoughts

I received this offer on my Wyndham Business card, but my wife didn’t get one (yet, at least) on her Wyndham Earner Plus card. Barclays often sends out all kinds of targeted offers on its various cobranded cards, so be sure to keep an eye on your emails as I wouldn’t be surprised if there were this and other types of spending offers on American Airlines Aviator Red cards, JetBlue cards, etc.

As for this specific offer, it’s a great deal as it works out to be a 10% statement credit if you spend exactly $250, $500 or $750. The email from Barclays lists flights, hotels, rental cars and Wyndham Travel Bundles as being eligible, as well as ‘and more’. It then added a link to ‘See full offer details’, but when clicking on that, it just linked to my account without providing any further details of the spending offer. The Wyndham Rewards Business Earner card earns 8x on gas purchases, but it sadly doesn’t look like that’s classed as a broader travel category.

Any luck getting the statement credit to actually post? I met the requirements and have had several calls and messages with Barclay, so far to no avail.

I haven’t had any luck either. What was Barclays response to you? I’m about to message them myself. Seems kind of ridiculous that it hasn’t posted by now.

They first told me it was up to Wyndham to fulfill the terms of the promotion, which made no sense. But I called Wyndham anyway, and they looked into it a bit, and then put me on a conference call with Barclays, and that agent opened a case and took all the information. Then yesterday I got a document in my online Barclay account that simply stated:

“We’re currently unable to assist you with your Rewards issue. Please contact us at the number on the back of your card for additional details.”

So I called them, and spent a half hour on the phone with another agent that couldn’t find the previous case, so opened a new case and asked me to fax a copy of the promotional email I had received. I did that and am now waiting to see if anything comes of it. Not holding my breath.

Thanks for the info. Oh geez, that doesn’t bode well. In my experience, Barclays is horrible at administering their promotions and/or are VERY slow to post anything. If this one doesn’t pay out, I think I’m done doing their promotions. Just too much hassle and frustration.

Brian C

Yeah, Barclays is clueless on this. They told my wife to contact Wyndham Rewards (even though it’s a BARCLAYS statement credit promotion). She pushed on it and at least they set up a case to investigate. The person I messaged with for my account actually set up a case right away, at least they didn’t refer me to Wyndham. We’ll see what happens on both.

Anyone been able to figure out what counts?

No need to confirm the offer?
