Earlier today, Stephen got an email from Chase offering him 15,000 bonus United miles for adding an authorized user to his United Gateway card by September 30th. The title of the email was, “Stephen, earn 15,000 bonus miles when you add an authorized user.”
It sounds like this offer is going out to other cardholders of other United cards as well.

Terms and Conditions
- You will qualify and receive your bonus if you add an authorized user to your United Card by September 30, 2025, by calling the Chase number on the back of your credit card or by clicking on the link in this email.
- Please allow 6-8 weeks after the promotion ends on September 30, 2025, for bonus miles to post to your MileagePlus® account.
- Miles will post directly to the primary Cardmember’s MileagePlus account and will not appear on the primary Cardmember’s credit card statement.
- Only recipients of the promotional communication from MileagePlus for the card ending in the last four digits referenced in the communication are eligible for this promotional offer.
- No registration required.
- 15,000 bonus miles will only be awarded once, for the first authorized user added to your account regardless of how many total authorized users you add to your account.
Quick Thoughts
These are pretty easy miles, given that there’s no requirement to make a purchase; all you have to do is add an AU. It seems like quite a few of these emails have gone out, so if you haven’t received one and are a United cardholder, it’s worth checking your spam folders.
Stephen’s offer was on his United Gateway card, but I’ve seen other cardholders of all of United personal cards be targeted as well.

I have the basic UA Explorer card and received this offer. Although I don’t spend a lot on the card, I have been doing so lately due to several promotions.
I received this offer today for a United Quest. I thought maybe I triggered something by calling yesterday to inquire about a retention bonus before my 8/1 AF posts. Note that this language was included in my offer: “Credit card product changes during the promotional period will forfeit this bonus offer.”
For me, the 15k additional miles is just enough to push this card to a keeper for another year. Beware of downgrading until the miles post.
