You know we’re approaching the holidays when the Cartera-run shopping portals launch spending promotions in unison.
That happened yesterday, with up to 18,500 points/miles up for grabs, along with a $20 bonus from the USAA shopping portal.

- Terms below are for the Alaska Airlines/Atmos shopping portal; terms for the other portals are fairly similar:
- During the “Holiday Bonus” offer, which runs from 11/1/2025 through 11/19/2025 at 11:59:59 pm ET (the “Bonus Period”), Member will receive a one-time bonus of up to 1,500 Atmos Rewards bonus points on qualifying purchases made shopping online through Atmos Rewards Shopping or from purchases made through Atmos Rewards Shopping in-store offers, in addition to the standard points earned from shopping through the Atmos Rewards Shopping program.
- This one-time bonus award will be determined using one of the following tiers, based on Member’s cumulative qualifying purchases made during the Bonus Period: Tier 1 bonus: 300 points for qualifying purchases of at least $100; Tier 2 bonus: 750 points for qualifying purchases of at least $350; or Tier 3 bonus: 1,500 points for qualifying purchases of $650 or more.
- “Qualifying purchases” do not include returns, cancellations, shipping and handling, taxes, gift card or other cash equivalent purchases, and certain products that are not eligible for bonus points.
- Please allow up to 10 weeks after the Bonus Period for bonus points to post to your Atmos Rewards Shopping account.
- The Tier 3 bonus provides the maximum number of points that will be awarded.
Quick Thoughts
There are all kinds of good earning opportunities here, so it’s worth considering your anticipated eligible spend over the coming weeks to decide which of these portal bonuses are worth focusing on.
There are various quirks worth being aware of across these portals. With the Alaska Airlines/Atmos shopping portal, the bonus miles you earn from this type of promotion do count towards elite qualification. For every 3,000 redeemable miles you earn through Alaska partners like their shopping portal, you earn 1,000 Elite Qualifying Miles (EQMs). With 1,500 bonus miles up for grabs, you’ll be halfway to earning your next batch of 1,000 EQMs.
Another quirk of the Alaska portal – and the United portal too for that matter – is that they have an in-store card-linked program. If you prefer shopping in-store rather than online, this can be a great way to still be able to take advantage of these portal promos. Many of the eligible in-store retailers currently have Amex Offers, Chase Offers, etc., such as Tory Burch, plus CVS is an eligible retailer.
Although gift cards are listed as being excluded in the terms, gift card purchases from Giftcards.com are eligible provided they track as normal through the portal.
As always, compare the regular earning rates through these portals to other portals using a site like Cashback Monitor or Savewise. Even when taking into account the bonus earnings from these new portal promotions, you might still find that a different portal has better overall earning potential.
