Delta has launched another flash award sale, this time offering discounted flights to Europe. With flights bookable from only 24,000 SkyMiles round trip – or even less if you have an eligible Delta credit card – there are some decent deals available here.

It can sometimes be hard to get good value for your SkyMiles and these flash sales tend to be one of the best ways to get better than 1 cent per point of value when redeeming them.
Round trip flights are bookable from only 24,000 miles + taxes and fees (which vary depending on the European country you’re visiting). That’s a potentially decent deal, but be sure to compare to cash pricing, especially for locations with higher taxes and fees as the comparative savings might be less.
Availability varies depending on your dates and city pairings. For example, here’s New York to Munich at the end of January/beginning of February:
Meanwhile, availability at the 24,000 mile level is much better between New York and London during that same timeframe.
Be aware that the round trip pricing from 24,000 miles is only available for travel in Main Basic. That only includes a carry on, doesn’t include seat assignment, etc. When there are these flash sales, Main Classic often comes at a somewhat hefty premium. With this latest flash sale though, that’s not always the case.
In many instances, you can book the same flights in Main Classic from only 30,000 SkyMiles. Redeeming those extra 6,000 miles per person could provide excellent value seeing as it’ll include a free checked bag in both directions, seat assignments, and more.
The pricing can get even better than that too. If you have a Delta Gold, Platinum, or Reserve credit card (no matter whether it’s the personal or business version), you get a 15% discount when booking award flights with Delta. That’ll reduce the 24,000 mile flights to 20,400 miles, while flights normally costing 30,000 miles round trip will drop to 25,500 miles.
If you’re interested in any of these flights, you’ll want to book quickly. Partly because availability might reduce due to other people taking advantage of this award sale, but also because you have to make your reservations by Thursday November 20.
