You can earn higher rewards with Lyft Business Rewards (Alaska, Hilton, & United)

4

We’ve written before about the fact that you can link your Lyft account with Alaska AirlinesHiltonBilt, or United to earn additional rewards on your rides. What I hadn’t realized until yesterday when writing about a new Lyft/Alaska promo is that there’s an additional feature that can earn you even higher rewards with three of these programs courtesy of Lyft Business Rewards.

Lyft Business Rewards

The Deal

  • Earn higher rates with one of the following partners when linking your account to Lyft Business Rewards and taking rides on that profile:
    • Alaska/Hawaiian Atmos Rewards – Earn 4x-6x per $1
    • United – Earn 2x-4x per $1
    • Hilton – Earn 6x per $1
  • Direct link to offer.

Quick Thoughts

Lyft’s partnership with United for personal rides offers 1x-4x, so the earning rates through Lyft Business Rewards aren’t all that different. It’s much better for Hilton and Alaska/Hawaiian though.

You earn 3x Hilton Honors points with their partnership for personal rides, so the 6x earnings with this business program are twice as good. Similarly, the Alaska/Hawaiian earnings are normally 2x-3x on personal rides versus 4x-6x for business rides.

I’ve not tested out this program yet, but it looks like you have to actively select Business rides when ordering a Lyft. On the home page of the app, you should see a ‘Business’ button that should be selected before arranging a ride.

Somewhat interestingly, although you can earn Bilt points with Lyft for personal rides, they don’t seem to be participating in this business program. We’ve reached out to Bilt to ask if they have any plans to offer higher earning rates with Lyft Business Rewards, so we’ll update this post if/when we receive a reply.

The landing page for Lyft Business Rewards also lists 6%-8% back in Lyft Cash. I believe that’s in addition to the earnings with United, Alaska, or Hilton which is a great return overall.

If you do take rides through Lyft Business Rewards, be sure to verify that you’re earning at the correct increased rate as a reader reported on a different post that they’re still earning at the personal ride rate for Alaska/Hawaiian Atmos Rewards.

I’ve been using Lyft for Business to earn higher rewards when paying with my corporate card, but can confirm that Lyft for Business rides are ALWAYS more expensive than Lyft for Personal rides. You’re basically paying for the extra points and it’s usually not worth it.

Note that Lyft Pink discounts do not apply to business rides.
