Delta launched another three day award sale yesterday and there are some good deals available. For example, you can book round trip tickets to Europe from only 26K SkyMiles round trip from the east coast and only 28K from the west coast.
Even better, these are Main Classic rather than Main Basic, so you’ll get a free checked bag, free seat assignment, etc.

There are discounted award flights for locations all around the world, but some of the cheapest award deals are those to/from Europe.
For example, you can book round trip tickets from New York to cities including Barcelona, Dublin, and Madrid for only 26,000 miles round trip. Taxes and fees vary depending on the route, but they’re very reasonable compared to some other programs when crossing the Atlantic.
Flights from the west coast to Europe can be very reasonable too, as Los Angeles to Dublin can be had for 28,000 miles round trip, along with other options.
Usually when Delta runs these award sales the lowest pricing is in basic economy. This time though, on many routes the pricing for Main Classic is the same as for basic economy, so selecting Main Classic is a no-brainer. That way you get free seat selection, a free first checked bag, an earlier boarding group, and more.
If you have a Delta credit card with an annual fee, one of its benefits is a 15% discount on award flights. That means a flight that ordinarily prices at 26,000 SkyMiles round trip gets reduced to 22,100 miles. Although it’s worth checking cash pricing for your travel dates, it’s highly that booking with miles will be the preferable option as you’ll likely be getting in excess of 1 cent per point of value for your miles.

When the sale started yesterday, LAX to BCN was 28,000 miles for both Basic and Classic. Within a few hours, Delta raised it to 54,000 and 70,000 miles, respectively. If you want to take advantage of the sale, don’t wait!
