There’s a new IHG Amex Offer out that’s giving $50 back as a statement credit when spending $250 across one or more stays in eligible countries.

Quick Thoughts
Saving $50 on $250+ of stays is a pretty good deal, especially seeing as you could ask hotels to split the payment across two or more cards if you have this IHG Amex Offer on more than one card in your household.
It’s also handy that it’s valid on more than one transaction, so if you have two or more cheap stays of one night at different properties, you’ll still be able to take advantage of this deal.

If you’re booking a paid stay, make sure you’re registered for IHG’s latest promotion and that you click through from a shopping portal before making your booking. That said, this Amex Offer will work when paying for any charges to your room, so it’ll also be useful for award stays where you charge things like meals, drinks, pet fees, parking, spa treatments, etc. to your room.

IHG has a lot of cash/points options when booking a stay that get very close to purchasing the needed points at the half cent per point that it sometimes costs to buy points on sale. Canceling a cash/points stay results in a points only refund. This could be a possible way to buy points at less than half a cent per point if you factor in the $50 refund and find a stay that will cost close to the $250 mark.

But the graphic for this article (when browsing from the homepage) shows a picture of a room at the Kimpton Seafire… which is an excluded property from this offer.
