Bilt Rewards has released details of its next Rent Day promotion and it’s great news for people who were excited by the addition of Japan Airlines as a transfer partner last year.
That’s because on March 1, 2026 there’ll be a transfer bonus of 25%-125% based on your existing status level and whether you have any Bilt Cash redeemable to buy yourself up one level.

The Deal
- Get a bonus when transferring Bilt Rewards points to Japan Airlines Mileage Bank on March 1:
- Blue status: 25% bonus
- Silver status: 50% bonus
- Gold status: 75% bonus
- Platinum status: 100% bonus
- Platinum members redeeming $135 Bilt Cash: 125% bonus
Key Terms
- Transfer bonus available on March 1, 2026 from 0:00am ET through 11:59pm PT.
Quick Thoughts
Unlike Capital One which transfers to Japan Airlines (JAL) on a 2:1.5 basis (although there is a Capital One transfer bonus through the end of February), transfers from Bilt to Japan Airlines occur on a 1:1 basis. As a result of the transfer bonus, it’ll be a total transfer ratio ranging from 1:1.25 to 1:2.25. That could provide excellent value given some of JAL’s sweet spots.
If you have Platinum status, you can redeem $135 Bilt Cash to boost your transfer bonus to 125%. People with lower Bilt Rewards status levels can also redeem $135 Bilt Cash to bump themselves up one level in order to obtain a higher status level. However, note that you’re capped at one level boost, so a Silver member can’t redeem $270 Bilt Cash to get access to the 100% transfer bonus that Platinum members will have; they’ll be limited to $135 Bilt Cash for a 75% bonus at the Gold level.
While it could be tempting to transfer points speculatively, it’s important to bear in mind that Japan Airlines miles expire after 36 months. While a three year expiration policy might not seem terrible, you can’t extend their validity through activity, so if you don’t redeem the miles within 36 months they vanish.

You should settle this in the way only FM can. VFTW says JAL has special award space for its own currency. OMAAT says it doesn’t. Who’s right? Who’s wrong? I expect a 10,000 word post with 300 screenshots. Thanks.
May I kindly ask why we need $135 but not $75 to upgrade the transfer bonus?
Unlock higher transfer bonuses
Use Bilt Cash to upgrade your Rent Day transfer bonus to the next status tier; Platinum members receive an additional boost; example: Gold member can upgrade from 75% to 100% for $75 Bilt Cash; pricing and availability subject to change.

I was wondering that too. What happened to the $75 Bilt Cash upgrade option?
The exact amount you have to redeem can differ from month to month; the $75 example will be applicable some months, but not all.
JAL is an excellent airline. If you can make this work for you, it’s a great opportunity. I’m pleasantly surprised by this promotion with BILT. If they really want to knock our socks off, they’d do a promotion with Hyatt (before any major-devaluation, preferably).
FM just put out a blog talking about a Hyatt devaluation. A Hyatt bonus would be great from BILT, especially because of the crazy high new award chard from Hyatt.
